Not really the right section as your now out of RS. Get it moved to Technology.

As far as the computer goes; buy the parts and build it yourself. You will get a better computer for the amount you spend and it's more fun.

I can get this for free :) I work in a very rich school district and they give them out to employees once they upgrade technology

Do not go with a mac you can do so much better with a $2000 budget. You really need even need that much for a build that will handle anything.

It's very easy will take you a hour or two and max. If you really don't think you can build your own go with a pre-built from a site like cyberpowerpc.com .

As said before, don't get a mac. Apple is trying to be the standard for personal electronics, and they are very overpriced.

Since you don't know how to build, try and look up a guide?
You're finished product might have cost 1,000; but if you bought it from a manufacturer it would go for around 4!

If you plan on buying, upgrade that at least..

There are many things to upgrade like probably your own mouse/keyboard (im a germophobe but its your choice..people can sneeze and put hand back on mouse)..

4GB ram is not much really.. upgrade to 8/16 ($100 max)

Honestly imo, you're better off with an alienware computer.. they have sick laptops and desktops.. they have a laptop on amazon for ~$1900 with 16gb ram/3gb graphics/17" screen/1tb hdd 7200 rpm with intel core i7

do your research first thoroughly.. and be quick

Macs are a waste. Way too overpriced. I recently build a cheap gaming PC for €500 which can handle pretty much any game on high graphics, imagine what you can do with $2000.

Apple tends to overprice their products. If you want a Mac then go for it, however, if you want something nice that has a fair price and runs circles around the Mac with similar pricetag then look here. Both have GTX 680 so as close to perfection as possible and later if you really want to pump it up even further, buy another GTX 680 and run the two in SLI. Just as a side tip. Buying a PC that costs over 1k is usually a waste. The performance you gain is very small compared to how much more money you spend. Best is to keep the extra money and upgrade in the future when better hardware becomes available. With extra money you can buy a nice big monitor or two 1080p ones + maybe a nice LCD tv drilled to the wall for the movies and series you are watching with comp. :)

Just my 2 cents. I run a company that designs gaming and home theatre PCs.

Alienware is good too but the brand costs way too much to be considered.

If you want a laptop, Sager laptops are nice. Looks like they have some good deals going right now, free 16GB RAM and 750GB HDD upgrades.

I agree, don't go with Alienware. Macs are nice, but like others have said, overpriced and not very good for gaming.
If you want a desktop, go the custom route. You will get much more for your money.
