It looks like the game is turning into pay2win.
I like the instakill darts though ;P

 

It looks like they're offering generally insignificant, but nonetheless nifty, rewards for people who play their game. I doubt this will help someone decide he wants to be a member; it's just a cool one-time use thing for people that won't affect much about the game IMO.

 

I'm just in it for the experience, don't care much for the other "goodies" available.

anyone against this is a moron. they discontinued bonus xp weekends because of adverse effects on market so they do things like this with a bonus xp ITEM so people dont use theirs all at once, similar to the mad necklace. this is just a way to compensate for the lack of BXP this year how about you guys read the updates and rs homepage before whining about every new thing you hear .

they all sound like garbage IMO except the insta death dart. cheating death is fucking ridiculous its like jagex forgot what a ring of life is... granted you can POSSIBLY die wearing a rol.

 

Insta death dart is like a free 2m, if you're lucky. If you're extremely lucky, you'll get a Nex item or sigil, but for 99% of the people they'll only get a consolation reward. Also, RoL doesn't work for quest/minigame bosses like the DT bosses or Jad or something.

 

Why can’t we have XP-boost items so we can still work for XP, rather than get it instantly?

XP-boost items are a great mechanic and we like using them for various kinds of event, but it’s not right for Sizzling Summer. Keep an eye out for future events, though, as they’re sure to make an appearance again.


How will this free XP be delivered? Will it be the same way the different SoF lamps work?

We’ll have more information on that soon, but you will be able to select which skills the XP is spent.


That is from the FAQ page, that means it won't be like a Mad Necklace and you can get a free 1M EXP in any skill you choose, or maybe it's a choice of skills, which I hope for so I can evenly spread it over the skills I hate.


And for the Choose Your Fate anyone can now go to Nex with a Ring Of Wealth and 4 of the darts for 4 free kills. And since the Nex items and Zaryte Bow are only Rare drops instead of Very Rare, I can see a lot of people getting lucky. Unless of course they make it have limitations like the monster has to be at 50% health or less. Though if not it can also be useful for killing quest or monogamy bosses such as Nomad, Jad, or Kiln.

The deposit box can also help for some Rev killers or people who want to risk a lot in the wild and bank everything at the last second.

 

*facepalm* Sounds a bit contradictory. I hope the 1M experience is only available if you are over a certain level in a skill or spread amongst skills of your choosing otherwise it will be lame.

 

There were referring to the value of spins and costume items which are already in Soloman's shop. The items which will not be available for sale are the dart, etc.

 

the xp is going to be given in increments so im sure you will be able to spread the xp between skills, i say increments because they said you only get the 1m bonus xp for being member all through the entirety of aug-sep there is also xp incentives for staying all through august that was announced. it TOTALS 1m xp all rewards considered. Also ring of wealth doesnt affect monster specific drops like nex dropping armor or zaryte bow whether they are "rare" or not they are NOT on the rare drop table which the ring of wealth increases the odds of dropping, it increasing the odds of dropping something from the rare drop table effectively DECREASES the odds of nex dropping nex armor or zaryte bow.

 

ROL also just teleports you away at the last moment while, if I'm reading it right, you can die with the Cheat Death thing and get resurrected on the spot, hp restored and gear intact.

The glitch was because all the ROW stacked. And that's how people got a sigil every kill.

There was a video on Youtube where someone was doing the Zbow glitch at Nex, he soloed and right as it dies, he puts on wealth and it shines. He gets a nex armor drop (Pernix/Torva, can't remember which part).

Yeah.

Not like anyone dies and can't get back to their grave. 15minutes is more than long enough. Pures don't really risk much. I only see this really working at Ape Atoll to avoid losing your chins.

 

Well there goes free 700k exp... What happened to the good ol grinding fest? I remember when getting a level 99 skill takes a very long time now its basically easy work.

Get your facts right, they aren't doing anything with a bonus xp item.

^F2P players never got a BXP Weekend, it was member's only. Maybe you should get your facts straight first.

 

Always thought F2P players got BXP weekends too.
Didn't knew it because I'm always P2P.

I'm indifferent, but I wouldn't mind the xp and that dart.
