How do I make a logo like Dragon Dyce's?

Not only are Dragon Dyce's website template good, but their logo too.



Anyone know how I can create this? I can easily create the 3D text, but not the red metallic look of it!

 

That's all about the lighting - you need a good lightroom for that

 

Honestly, it was probably made in Illustrator and then brought into PS.

You can make some nice High Gloss 3D Text in PS, it is just a bit more complicated than using a more sophisticated 3D software.

You can try using lighting sources, rendering and also overlaying/clipping makes C4Ds which are the high gloss you are looking for.

 

That can easily be made in photoshop. However if it was 4d, which it isn't and it kind of has a rippling effect which can also be done in photoshop.

Photoshop CS5 extended edition is needed for the use of 3d text.

I'm sure there are text tutorials somewhere, but I'm not sure of where to find the particular one you're looking for. There's quite a few artists on this site that can actually help you. Try asking those who do the graphics shop, I actually doubt they will tell you, but it's worth a try.

 

All depends on the GFX'er, if I'm not mistaken it was probably Flame's Template,
What I think and it's mostly use is C4D for text, and photoshop for effects.

 

Making 3d text in photoshop cs5 extended edition is a terrible idea, it really isn't suited for it and doesn't look that good. Also there isn't really that many good shading and lighting options.

Never said it couldn't be done, but as a later poster pointed out. 3D Text in PS even at CS5 is shit compared to idk...Illustrator...

 

*Giggle* It's pretty easy.
I made that by the way, so don't think that I have no clue how thats made.
You simply choose a font that you find fitting, I found Carton pretty nice.
Then; You simply start screwing around with the lighting and the reflections.
The text colour is pretty irrelevant to the end product, as you'd still screw around with it in Photoshop.

Next, you take it into photoshop, adding more lighting to the text and making it look a bit nicer with different colours and making it look less dull, and ta-dah! Famous RuneScape clan logo.

 

Dang i wish i had a clue in C4D :].

 

Boom idk who said he made it in PS, but suck it. To clean to be made in shitty CS5 3D Text Style.

 

Create it in c4d, and when you apply the materials work with the reflection and texture.

Photoshop can help in this instance too, but I don't care for that.
