in my time here ive had the fortune to talk to Sypherz, Bluepiq and Zerkerfist.

and all 3 have been avaible, helpfull and friendly and it makes me want to be more involved in the site.

 

Video's been doing great and really active combating spam reports and such.

One small rant. Obviously I'm a bit anally frustrated right now so take it as you will and please ignore any traces of hostility. I don't have any specific staff member this is directed at. Sorry if it doesn't belong on this thread -- I just didn't want to make a new thread and cause drama.

Obviously, I respect the staff's decision in the matter. I'm completely fine with the outcome, but I'm annoyed by how the decision was derived.

• I was accused of not having 'solid evidence' when I still retained the signed contract, the proof of delivery, including chat logs, and testimonies on what had to be done. Corey himself also admitted to never providing me the essential information required for fighting a chargeback properly. I was never contacted for further evidence, that I could have provided on request. Much of the evidence contains sensitive information, so I could not just post it publicly.
• The contract was seen as problematic because I can't prove that if Corey took the proper precautions the chargeback would be undone? Obviously, if Corey had followed the proper guidelines, he should have held the order due to IP change alone, as outlined.
• I merely stated that it was from memory and the specifics could be untrue. This does not make Corey's misconduct any less serious

With that, I'm appalled by the comments by whichever staff member, saying that I don't deserve anything at all if I cannot specifically prove something unprovable. Since when did I deserve the chargebacks that came in partly because of Corey's actions? Keep in mind, Corey not providing all the necessary information for the chargebacks alone justifies his responsibility for them. If he had simply done the correct steps, or even gave me the proper evidence (remember, he never gave me the required phone call), the chargeback would have been prevented or even properly appealed in our favor.

I guess here's the short version, or what I hope will come out of my post: in the future, please be more careful in making a serious judgement, and don't assume things without at least attempting to contact people on both sides of the dispute. Lack of anything doesn't justify a vote if you never seek more information.

Agreed, you've been doing an awesome job handling reports in RaSc.

 

The quote given to you upon the staff's final verdict wasn't a smart choice as far as summing up our discussion and the reasoning behind it imo. A lot of our debate had nothing to do with what you deserved or not. The decision was reached, rather, by evidence offered, or lack there of. You had waited so long, and lost so much crucial evidence that it was difficult enough to sift through all the information you presented to understand what you deserve. That, coupled with the fact that you and Corey both admitted to regurgitating the scenario from mutually criticized memory, made it difficult to truly calculate what should be owed. Admittedly, I personally think we should have considered punishment beyond forcing him to pay what we determined he owes you. You should not have had to wait for months and months, only to end up having to make staff help you in order to be paid due compensation from an Official Middle Man and a retroactive staff member (as Syed pointed out earlier). That, however, isn't my call, you would have to speak with an upper staff about it.

As far as this:

It was our assumption that you gave 100% of the information you had to offer on the subject in your thread. Whereas only staff who read all of your report were allowed to participate, it therefore begs the question: how could dozens of people have missed evidence that you offered that would have earned you more than just the commission? I think the answer is clear: none of us believed there was enough evidence, and while you said you should seek more information before making a decision, why should we expect there's more information when you admitted to losing a lot of the proof over time? Why should we expect there's more information when you didn't already include it in the novel you and Corey wrote together in the Report a Scammer forum? I believe the virdict we reached as far as how much you should receive from Corey was a fair decision given all of the information you gave us in that thread. Fair, not because we were considering what you deserved, but fair because we were considering what we can prove Corey actually owes you.

Thanks, my internet access has been questionable at best, so I've been doing what I can when I have the time. Until I get settled into my own barracks room, the only access to internet I have is at a friends and on my ipad through my phone's tether.

 

He's e-mailed that address millions of times. I've contacted Richard to no avail.

 

Well, theres really not much else we can do aside from pointing him down the right road, regardless of whether or not hes already travelled said road previously. Advertising is Richards responsibility, and if he neglects it, well, thats on him I guess.

The site has been running well since the database was pruned. I know it was a slight inconvenience for a lot of people, but it was definitely for the best! ^_^

 

I would agree with Grave here, I thought about it and read EVERY post yet my opinion doesn't matter for 2 shits, Corey should be responsibly for all of it and Grave was a nice person for holding off so long A.as a friend but B. Because Corey is trusted he at the time had no doubts.


Can we take a user vote maybe to see if he has to pay?
