how do people charge back with paypal?

ok well I was recently ripped off due to a chargeback and I was just wondering how the hell they can win a case on paypal even after they gift the money and send a note attached with it. It's quite frustrating.

 

First of all, this is the wrong section. This has nothing to do with RuneScape.

Also I believe google could solve this problem.

Basically you just open a dispute and explain that you were scammed, and/or call paypal and explain you got scammed.
Chances are you won't be able to get your money back.

I would suggest using a MM in the future.

Knowing the moderators here they will most likely close this thread instead of moving it so I'm going to answer your question now.

They call their credit/debit card company and they display a reason as to why they want to make a dispute. Then the company calls up paypal and paypal puts the funds on hold and reverses any payments made with the money used in the chargeback. Your paypal may get limited because of this and you will most likely be in a negative balance if you bought anything.

A personal payment - Gift is a horrible way to make purchase just because paypal doesn't have you under protection which is why you must always sell as goods so they will fight for you if you have proof.

Paypal also doesn't support virtual goods, and because of this you might lose already.

So yeah

 

yeah actually it kind of does, as it was a gold sale that it was charged back on and this is the only time I have ever had someone successfully chargeback against me and I've sold 1000's of things through ebay using paypal before. so it's obviously something to do with gaming.

Also if it is sent as a gift and they send a note saying such like I believe I had said person put something like " here is that money I owed you sorry it took so long to pay it back"

Last but not least a mm will not solve a chargeback.

thank you for explaining I now understand and yes I'll be sure to sell as goods next time the reason I didn't is because of the virtual goods problem but thank you none the less.
