So I'm very, very new to the idea of computer building but I need a new one. With the help of the lovely users here I've put this together. (I'm on a budget.) Any feedback? Case: Cheap, should get the job done. HDD: Inexpensive, good reviews on eBay. Motherboard: Recommended by MMA. Using Amazon as the tax I'll have to pay is less than the shipping Newegg charges. GPU: Cheap and effective based on reviews. Recommended by MMA. CPU: I have Best Buy gift cards and even though I have to pay tax.. well.. might as well. RAM: Cool stuff. Power Supply: By recommendation of MMA. DVD Drive: It's cheap and has free shipping. Thankyou! Seems good to me. If you happen to get some more cash, get this GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127606
Looks good only thing I'd change if it fits your budget is the case. The case you chose has no cable management so it might be a clutter. If you don't mind that then you should be fine.
Personally at that price range i would go with an older phenom ii x4 black edition over the i3. Its about 30 dollars cheaper and has 2 more cores, and i believe beats it in gaming performance. Ill have to look up the benchmarks when i get home.
What about this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103962 It has an included giftcard anyway that I can buy my cd drive with Could someone please help me find a compatible motherboard?
That cpu is definitely better than the i3, scores much better in benchmarks. MOBO- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157305

Here is the same case for alot less, through the same seller just not of eBay- http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=T6027 Might wanna see if the shipping through their site makes it cheaper than buying through eBay with free shipping.
Thankyou so much for the help! And what do you think of this motherboard? It just has free shipping and better reviews. I may be missing smething though.. http://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GeForce-Chipset-Motherboard-GA-M68MT-S2/dp/B005X64M4G/ref=pd_cp_pc_0
Depends on what you want to do honestly, I didn't look at the HDD you picked, but that Motherboard does not support 6GB/s, only 3GB/s. Also that Motherboard only supports up to 8GB of ram, so if you want to upgrade in the future you are limited. If you are okay with both of those things, by all means buy that Motherboard, both will work just fine. Actually I just looked at your hard drive and it is only 3GB/s which is a tiny bit slower, but if you picked that motherboard it would work fine.
Use newegg only, you'll pay $5-$10 for shipping everything, also don't choose parts based on newegg giftcards unless you plan on ordering something again. You can use the BB gift card for a part if you want, but get the rest at newegg. Let me know your price range, i.e. $1000 w/ shipping MAX? I'll make you a full build.
Just took a look at your powersupply, Ill find you another one. You are overpaying by about $20 just for the modular capabilities, which are severely unneeded.
Your gpu doesn't need any extra PCIe cables, so unless you are looking to upgrade in the future, this should be fine- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182076
I'm trying to a budget build that can play some games, etc. I'm homing in on the >500 range. And the reason I buy some things on Amazon is that I am on the free shipping program. About the Newegg giftcard.. I'm going to buy my CD drive with it. And thankyou again justinkiller. Okay.. my only problem is the motherboard. I looked back and saw that that one doesn't support FX very well based on reviews. It just seems like every mobo gets horrible reviews and such and I am still looking for one.
No problem, just trying to help Anyways, the Motherboard you posted should work fine with FX series cpus. Reading the reviews it says the BIOS was upgraded to work with it, so it should work fine.
Ahh. I was reading the reviews off of here which kind of put me off. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128529 I shall go with it though! And I think I have everything I need down Thnakyou so much!
You could also go with this board, extremely cheap but seems good! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130638 Comes to about $57 with shipping, which is only $5 more than the other one.
Thankyou so much for the help! My final build is under "edit". I changed almost everything. Looking forward to building this
Very nice Here is a review on the GPU, and what sort of FPSes you should be expecting on games- http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/HD_6670/
