Longest Car Drive You've Ever Been on? any cool adventures? and rambling.

the longest i've ever been in a motor vehicle for a set ammount of time were the 3 times i've driven cross country, each time in only 4 days. it's 3000 miles from coast so that's 750 miles a day, it was pretty hardcore each time. the last time i took a greyhound bus trip from oregon to new york. it was rediculous. i hardly got any sleep at all and it was so uncomfortable. probably around 8 hours of sleep the whole time, if that. i met some of the coolest people ever though. i met this guy that just got out of prison for 7 years of heroine, and he was going to a halfway house. he told me some really crazy stories and he told me all the illegal shit isn't worth the time he lost and will never get back. he was JACKED though, i would not fuck with that guy in a million years, i'll tell you that. he was like 6 foot 7 and probably 250 or so pounds, not sure but he was big. i also met this guy from the army who was on leave for a while and he told me all these crazy stories about when he was in asia and how in korea everyone drinks this kind of alcohol that gets you wasted and is slightly psychadelic. he told me alot about the army and what it was like too, he was mad chill and he bought me cigarettes too cus i wasn't 18 at the time. i also met this one guy who was headed to turn himself into jail because he held these people hostage because they robbed him of some meth he was selling, no joke. he seemed like a chill guy and he was too me, but it was a crazy story, he was no joke. we stopped at this sketchy town on the eastern coast of oregon, and right after he got off the bus he went to the gas station, bought a 40 ounce of beer and chugged that shit right at the bus stop, and he was like "i would kill for a quarter gram of heroine right now" and i was like woah haha, he's no joke. he was chill though he sold me a half pack of cigs for 3 dollars when i really needed some. if you ever want an adventure take a bus cross country and it will definitely be one. sorry for the ramblings i thought it might be cool to add a story to my last trip cross country. what are some adventures you've been on? i'd love to hear if anyone has taken a bus cross country as well.

 

Honestly.. 6 hours at once. I can not stand cars. I've taken trains cross country though. I dunno. Long trips are just not appealing.

 

I hate any form of transportation aside from an air plane.

The longest car ride i've ever been in was from California to New Jersey, it was about 3 1/2 days and i honestly thought i was going to die inside of that car. I've never been so sure i was going to die until half way into the drive, the beginning of my panic attack.

Long story short, long drive = panic attack = Lilly rage.

 

Sounds like you had some pretty cool adventures.

Sadly my longest trip was 4 hours from PA to NY, I go to New York a couple times a year and usually I just listen to music or go to sleep.

 

18 hours. So Cal to Northern Idaho. I slept like 3-5 hours of it but the time i was awake epicly fucking boring.

 

Longest I've done was about 5 and a half days. From Spokane to Seattle, all the way through the Western territories of Canada, in to Alaska, and down to Anchorage. Longest... car ride, ever.

 

Longest for me had to have been from California to Pennsylvania back about 10 years ago.

In total, took us about 6 days.

 

Longest i ever spent in a single day on a car journey was 8 hours, it sucked so much ass. had 2 brief stops to get food/stretch our legs, but still.

 

Longest I have been was about 3 days, man that was bad.

 

Honestly, 8 hours...From PA to Canada..I hate car rides..The only thing to look forward to is good music on your iPod really...I love airplanes tho, they're the shit.

 

I don't think I have ever been on a really long car ride, my guess is about 2-3 hours to visit family or something. I can't stand long car rides much, also if it is hot outside the car is like a green house inside.

 

great stories guys. when i was on that bus it was horrible though. there were no hotels or anything, just driving the whole way in a huge bus with complete strangers. i had no ipod, just a steven king book which i finished about halfway through. i was totally on my own when i was 17, and all i had was 60 dollars so i had to be really careful with my money.

 

3 week trip across east America at the beginning of this summer, and a different 3 week trip across western America 2 summers ago. Usually about 12 hours in the car a day everyday.

Tons, and I have about 3,000 pictures lol, Ill have to find them and post some.

This last trip I took was basically a trip for me before I go away to college.
I am going to major in American history, so what better place is their than the locations where the country was born?
I got to see the Liberty bell, ground zero, the field in shanksville Pennsylvania where United 93 finally came down, and one of the guys there told me something interesting that I had not known, he said the plane came down upside down, which I thought was crazy.
I also got to see Plymouth rock, the amazing coasts of Maine with all the rocky shores, and I got to see Monticello, which was Thomas Jefferson house, and it was beautiful.
The other things I got to see was the city of Boston, which was just the way I though it would be, great. The last thing I seen before I returned home was Niagara falls, and for those of you who haven't went, It is amazing.

The other trip was for my sister before she went away to college, and she wanted to go to California(we are from Michigan). We covered every state west of Michigan on that trip, except for Hawaii and Alaska, which are my only 2 states I have not visited.
We saw some amazing things on that trip, like the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, and this cool little place called Mitchell Corn Palace, which was a huge theater I think that was dedicated to corn basically lol.
I got to visit Vegas for 2 days, I can't wait to go back when I am 21, because there is so many cool places and things to do there. Interesting fact about Vegas is they have Mexicans stand on the sidewalk passing out this like trading cards for prostitutes. That was the weirdest thing I seen anywhere in America lol, they even gave one to my 11 year old brother.
One of the other things we seen on the trip was Sequoia National Park, which was very cool. The trees they have there are spectacular, and I have never seen anything like it.
I of course visited LA, which was pretty cool, but not what I expected.
On the way home we took historic route 66 which was neat, their was many great things to see, and tons of ghost towns on the way.

That is what I can think of off the top of my head, if I can think of more I may edit the post and throw it in here somewhere. But I am very grateful for those trips, they were truly once in a lifetime each.

I was in a 12 hour car ride on my way home from Niagara Falls. My little cousin kept saying the same thing over and over.

ive got nothing on your stories lol. longest car trip was in one day my family drove from Calgary, AB to Nanaimo, BC. It was at least 16 hours, but it was pretty cool 'cause we drove through the mountains and this other shit so it was worth it.

 

I'm around the same as you. Longest is maybe 6 hours. I cannot bare to stay in cars for a prolonged time.
