A personal opinion

Well i've been on this site since 2007. Since then i have made a couple trades all ending bad.. IS there honestly any good reasons this site is up? From my experience through out the years i have gotten nothing but bad people taking my hard earned things. And out of all of it i come back after being scammed multiple times in a short spree to give it another shot and try to get some cash for my 21st birthday which is in 15 minutes. What happens? I go to sell some rsgp for cash and get scammed again.. 4 years later. Shows how good this site is for helping people.. Thanks again sythe.org for letting some scammer take away another one of my childhood memories and on top of that a day before my birthday.. Will probably never use this site again after what happened. Instead of going out to the bars and celebrating my 21st the correct way ill be doing it at home like usual broke as a joke because i actually work to live and don't have the joys of extra spending money.

 

Learn from your mistakes. Trade with reputable and trusted users. I don't have pity for anyone getting scammed multiple times, not hard to take precautions.

What I have learned is that in 90%+ scam the person who got scammed is at fault because of failure to take proper precautions when trading. It isn't hard to avoid being scammed and there are numerous guides in the guide section and stickies that teaches people how to spot and avoid scams. We aren't here to hold people's hands and lead them around.

 

The site does everything it can to prevent scams. We have a great staff team, the stickies are filled with useful information, tons of middlemen, guides on market safety, etc. It's your responsibility to use proper trading etiquette, check the users vouches (quality of them), only trade from high trusted/reputable members, use OMM/trusted MMs, etc. You're the only one who can prevent yourself from getting scammed.

 

There are copious amounts of precautions you can take to not get scammed. Use an OMM (many of them are free), don't go first, use player auctions, don't accept payments that can be charged back.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but I can assure you it isn't everyone. Sythe paid for my car and a multitude of other items. It isn't hard to make some $$ as long as you're safe.

 

Yeah alot of scammers out their ...hard to trust people on sythe thats why theirs free high vouched MMs or OMMs

 

I agree that whoever got scammed could've informed themselves better, but the scammer is still at fault. Agreed, he/she should've been more cautious, but that doesn't change the fact that someone wanted to steal their money/account/whatever.

The world would be a better place if everyone was honest...

Edit: So far, I haven't been scammed, mostly because I'm really paranoid. Regarding that, I have no problem with people double-checking my information if they're paranoid as well. There's no shame in being cautious.
