    Staff privilege - everyone can usually change their name or shorten it once to be more professional. Been like this for years.

    so um how is

    Cskiffington1 unprofessional
    Noamyoungerm unprofessional
    Pk frenzyy unprofessional
    Shoopdaoop unprofessional
    Superman123321 unprofessional

    just curious, since im pretty sure matthew had made a statement that there was strictly no name changes unless it was unprofessional, and NONE of those were unprofessional.

    Remember man lets keep it strictly Feedback, lets not challenge rules of the site. Im sure Fire has a logical explanation, Just seen whenever you become a Mod if you can change your name.

    I think the names are awsome.

    No, that's not how it goes, when you become a mod you don't just "get a free chance to change your name."

    Explain to me how all of the names were "unprofessional," seeing as you only brought up ONE name and you didn't even give a reason why.

    I am on topic, i'm giving feedback to the admin that was in charge of doing this.

    What? I'm not even complaining about the old name changes. Some of those WERE unprofessional, ie "jewsus" or whatever his name was.

    But after the whole ricky incident, i'm pretty sure it became clear by matthew that NO name changes were allowed, unless they were unprofessional(only staff members), and none of those names that got changed recently were unprofessional.

    just a fun rank myself and N4N0 and Delta have for lols.

    On the topic of name changes I dont care about staff shortening and Corey had his name that for a day a year ago. Panic to Ricky was bullshit IMO an I wonder who allowed it.

    Which then lead to the rule of 'being more strict on name changes'.

    Panic should not have had his name changed, I agree. But he's banned, so there's no consequence to discussing it.

    Besides, that name change was made before the rule about name changes was clarified.

    I'd just like to add that you guys need to remember, the rules are more or less guidelines for staff members to follow, and are not set in stone.

    Regardless, the Administrators made the name change rule, and in any case they are free to bend it if they see fit. Of course this does not apply to any rule, but in this case it does.

    So.... if the rules about name changes were clarified as you say, why are people still getting their (ok, not nonprofessional)names changed?

    So it's ok for the staff members to break the rules if they feel it's OK to do so?
    How is it fit? Yours and plenty other's name were NOT unprofessional. Why did it get changed?

    The administrators have the power to look past rules if they see fit. If you do not trust an administrators judgement, you should be fighting for them to be demoted, as if they have poor judgement they certainly should not be an administrator (this is not the case, just an example).

    To be perfectly frank and express my honest opinion on the matter (I have no insight on whether or not this is correct), but the main reason such rules are added is because of the load of drama that comes along with only certain people getting name changes and not others, which seems to be the case here.

    Such a rule should not have to exist, it would be much better if people would just trust the Administrators and not be jealous of others.

    ----------------------
    The reason name changes are not granted often is because it gives the user a chance to escape from their past. There comes a point where the Administrators can generally see that a user is not a danger, and odds are they aren't hiding anything. At this point, I don't see a problem with someone being granted a name change.

    Some users who have received name changes in the past, I will agree did not deserve one, such as Ricky. However, I will not second guess the current administrative team's judgement when it comes to the recent changes that have been made, as I have no reason to.

    Other than there being a rule, I'd like to hear why you are against name changes and why you are so angry that some have been granted recently?

    There's a difference between "bending" and "breaking" rules.

    That's subjective, I thought their usernames were long, and a bit unprofessional. Now, they're easier to pronounce/reference to, and I personally think they look way more professional after the name change:

    superman123321 --> Superman
    Pk Frenzyy --> Frenzy
    noamyoungerm --> Noam
    Shoopadoop --> Shoop

    I'll start off by saying -this is not about me, i don't care if my name gets changed or not, i've never brought the subject up nor have I asked for a specific name change or something along that matter, i simply do not care about my own name.

    The reason why i am so worked about this is that matthew specifically addressed this issue, and now the same BS happens a year later- people's names are getting changed that do not deserve it(their names are FINE).

    So, my feedback is for the administrator who has changed it, which comes back to the question, why? What was wrong with the user's names that were so unprofessional that they deserved to get an entire name change? I don't see how a "long name" becomes unprofessional-that's just BS.

    I don't think a long name qualifies it being "unprofessional," but it probably does happen more often with names that have many characters. Determinate is fairly long, but I don't think it's unprofessional. On the other hand, superman123321 is fairly long, and it is a bit unprofessional. Are there any names you don't feel should have been changed, because all the names that are changed, at least in my opinion, are way more professional now.
