    Have you ever had Acne?

This thread is for people to talk about their experiences with Acne and how they deal with it, I use to have mild Acne on my face but with the help of facial scrubs and moisturizer it has gone away. I still use the scrubs and moisturizer just to make sure it never comes back. So have you guys ever had to deal with it and how did you get it to go away?

    I use to when i was 13. Lots of ways to get rid of however;

    • Tanning
    • Washing your face twice a day (morning and before bed)
    • Drinking lots of water
    • Reducing the amount of sugar intake
    • Exercise
    • Changing your sheets on your bed

A BIG thing that people don't realize too is the cleanliness of your pillow. I mean, most people go weeks without washing their pillow. It gets dirty, and that dirt gets into your pores while you sleep, creating acne. A solution to this is to put a towel over your pillow, sleep like that for one night, the next night flip the towel, then the next night change towels, repeat. That or you could change your pillow case every 2 days (each night sleep on a different side).

I did this myself, and I noticed a HUGE change. I don't have acne anymore, and haven't in a long time since I started this. All of the other solutions above help too though.

Hmm. Being a theoretical girl and very self conscious about my face I might try that. Fortunately though, I've never had it bad.

To reduce redness and swelling, not to prevent breakouts.

Aside from tanning, reducing your sugar intake, and drinking water, cleaning your bed sheets are a huge factor on preventing breakouts.

    Have you ever had Acne?

Ahh okay. At first when my friend told me about it, I thought it was some type of joke or troll.

I wasnt sure if it did anything and even if I did have severe acne I wouldnt put toothpaste on my face. Too many chemicals and shit.

I never did this because the logic behind it makes no sense.

Toothpaste contains a type of alcohol to clean and whiten teeth, putting alcohol on your face burns and irritates it causing the issues to worsen oppose from reducing it.

Yeah, have had acne for a while, depends on your type of skin some people just cant prevent it. it doesnt effect my life very much, i have had some face acne for like that past 5 years :( at first it makes you very self conscious but you get over it. Accutane is a solution if your willing to risk your health.

I've actually placed toothpaste on huge pimples i've had before. Not that much just a dab of it to cover the surface and I let it settle overnight. The next morning there was considerable reduction of the area.
Wash your hands and keep them clean when coming in contact with your face!

As lilly suggested, towels over the pillow + reducing sugar intake are the most effective ways to reduce acne. Also, make sure to be washing your face at least twice a day (before you eat breakfast and after dinner are the best times in my experience)

    Have you ever had Acne?

Acne is really genetic, honestly people who have it care for their face much better than people who don't. I know tons of people who didn't give two shits about washing their face and they grew maybe one pimple a year at most.

As for the less fortunate ones like me, I've found that tanning has helped a lot. I used to have a lot of bacne, then one day I went to the beach and tanned like 4 shades darker, lmao. But what I realized was my bacne was almost nonexistent a week afterwards. Bad part about tanning is, you're now risking skin cancer if you do it too much/long.

Everyone's skin is different, and the closest thing to a surefire way of cleaning up acne for everybody is Accutane. It comes with the largest trade-off of any acne medication, however; you're risking severe health side-effects. Such occurrences are rare, though.

    Have you ever had Acne?

If you have quite bad acne most little things will not help you, like washing your face twice a day, changing your pillow cover, etc.
Finecon is right, the only way to permanently clear up your face is with Accutane. Both my brother and I have used it and our acne has cleared right up. I basically never even get small break outs anymore.
There are a few side effects that are common among most patients like dry skin and really dry lips. These are easily treatable with moisturizer and some lip balm.
After about a month you can see it clearing up and after 6 months the acne is completely gone.
It's definitively worth giving it a go, there's severe side effects with basically every drug but they're a very rare occurrence.

I've have not had any serious acne, but i get a couple of intruders on my face once in a while. I just put cream on them, and two days later, voila - gone. ( I use proactive as my acne - remover)
