Ban Dispute - xhulic

I went to log into my Sythe account as normal, when I was hit with a message saying that I have been banned for posting a keylogger.

The only incident I can remember (as I can't access the original post, and its the only time I've posted a link) is I posted a word list for the Mass Name Checker in the verified programs section.

Not only was my link not a keylogger, it was a link to the site where you can download the file, not the actual file itself.

Furthermore, I am an active user with 200+ posts and 15 or so vouches. So I don't see why noone checked the link as I'm not suspicious in any way. Also I posted a quote from the website about what the link was taking them to.

I found the site by a simple google search, Huge Word List.

I would really like to know why I got banned, as a simple click on the site would see that it is not a keylogger, and not once have I tried to harm the sythe community so I am dissapointed that I was treated this way over a post intended to help. (It was a huge word list for a mass name checker.)

Any insight on this situation would be appreciated, and if the above incident was not the cause of the ban, then I don't know what is, as I have not posted a link anywhere else.

I banned you myself, and it is possible I made a mistake. Your post was reported specifically for being a keylogger, and I double checked with the person who reported you on MSN before I banned you (I trust their judgement and I know they routinely scan links themselves).

I did not scan the download myself however, and so I will double check and have you unbanned promptly if the link is not malicious after all, as well as offer you my apologies.

 

I spoke to the person who notified by of the link, and apparently he scanned the download and Kaspersky immediately shut it down and flagged it as being malicious. I checked Google like you said, and it is true that it is one of the first few results when you search for "Huge word list". So it may/may not be a malicious file, I am not willing to download it myself to find out.

However, after reviewing your posts and looking into your history, I do not believe that you intended to post anything malicious (if the download IS indeed malicious), and I think that a permanent ban is a mistake in this case, as you meant no harm.

I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you, and I thank you for being so patient and cooperative during this process. I am requesting an unban for you right now, and so you should be unbanned soon. Please be patient for just a little while longer. Thanks!
