There are many ways that we could work around this. For example, everyone could continue to link to their vouch thread, but any future sales completed will give people feedback instead of making another vouch post. Eventually the conversion will be complete. That's just one thing we can do though. I am sure we can brain storm other ways to convert over, and it is definitely worth it. You can't delete/edit/copy feedback marks, so there would be a huge amount of risk and shadiness removed. Plus it's more organized, and more straightforward then a vouch thread. It's worth the extra work that has to be done.

I don't see why that would be a problem. If it's helping the site, then it's their job to do it. I doubt many of them would have a problem with helping out anyways.

 

Personally I don't want a feedback system as it isn't aesthetically pleasing. Also, people would get angry and try to troll others for no reason with negative feedback. It would likely turn into a popularity contest of sorts unless the mods tripped their workload maintaining everyones feedback. In short, people could abuse it and seem trusted without trading.

 

People can abuse vouches as well.

 

There are Trading systems that can be used - I think MMOExchange has one where every trade is recorded and given a unique ID etc

 

And that's why we need a feedback system in my opinion. Reason being is, a lot of people simply put vouch or something in a post for somebody on their thread (no trade) and they count it as a vouch. How can we have an accurate trading system such as vouches, when a vouch means two different things half the time?

 

Alright, I retract that part of the statement I made.
And keep in mind that community members have tried to create suggestions to make the vouch system more reliable on multiple occasions but were shut down.

 

It doesn't matter why you think we need a Thanks/Rep system. It's on the DNS list and does not need to be addressed.

That is horrible logic. If it's being discussed and show how and why it would work, the excuse "DNS list" should not be used at all. Why is it that you have to fight against everything so adamantly? Do you hate sythe or something? What is it?

 

Things are on the DNS list because they've been thoroughly and adequately debunked in the past. I remember another admin explaining why iTrader and similar mods were a bad idea for this forum, but I can't dig it up while search is disabled.

 

You constantly claim that you don't bash anyone. Get your head out of your highly emotional state and stop resorting to ad hominem attacks.

Here's your only defence of a feedback system:

First you say that people are only against it because someone said no at some point. This could be true for some people it most certainly isn't for everyone. Second you say that since some large companies use it, it must be good. That is a logical fallacy and thus pointless and useless. Third you finally give a pro of the system, that it keeps things organized and professional. This however is subjective and I would argue that people can be plenty professional and organized using our current vouch thread format. Thus I would have to say that this valid point is null as our current system already offers that, although perhaps to a lesser extent depending on your opinion of the matter. Fourth, you say that people think our system works. Every system works to an extent and ours works fairly well after you get to know it. Scammers run rampant less because of our system and more because they know ways to game the system in their favor. Ebay owns Paypal. They can keep people safe and deal with chargebacks and stuff because they have complete control over Paypal. We don't. If someone charges back we can't do a thing. We can only offer advice. No feedback system is going to change that. And finally you put two more sentences about nothing related.

So in conclusion you have offered only one (perhaps two if you count them separately) pros of a feedback system. I thought of a whole lot more right off the top of my head so you haven't tried very hard to sell your idea. My thought is that this is because you expect everyone to agree with you and your comments to Govind back this idea up quite a bit. Secondly you also offered none of the cons of a feedback system, which there are quite a few. Not showing both sides of an issue is wrong. Address both sides so we can make an informed decision. And finally you have constantly and repeatedly lobbed attacks at anyone who has disagreed with you, most recently with Govind.

I'm tired of the disrespect, stubbornness, and rampant egotism that you have displayed. Grow up and listen to what I've been saying. Until then I'm done with this.
