Paying for unbanning of account?

I've seen quite alot of people claiming their accounts were banned for botting.
They apparently paid Jagex $10 and their accounts were unbanned.
My question is: is this really possible?

 

you have been obviously trolled.

 

not sure about now, but what happened in the past was they asked for payment of members for the time the account has been banned.
it was only in very certain circumstances, its easy just to start a new account,
you can max an account in roughly a year nowadays

 

I wouldn't be too surprised if it did actually exist. Jagex is trying everything to get a bit of money nowadays. Ah well, thanks. Answered, I believe.

 

For a while there WAS a thread you could post in about old banned accounts.

If you were lucky enough, they'd unban it but give it negative membership (I believe almost 20-30$'s worth...) So you'd have to apply membership before ever using it.
