Suggestion: Simba Rank

And Simba/SCAR do?

 

I agree that a SIMBA rank should be created
We have others too, and SIMBA would just fit next to them.
Ofcourse would the people need to verify their scripting talents, so that not everybody runs around with the ranks..

Yes, as we have sections for both Simba and Scar, but not for RSBot.

 

Those sections shouldn't exist and are ancient.

 

There could be (is there already?) a Java rank for the java coders/bots.

Agreed simba ranking would be useful to show who has the ability to script.
thus helping newer members see who are trustworthy.

Recommending someone to get a rank will get this suggestion closed, it's on the DNS list. You should just talk about implementing the rank, not who should get it, that comes later.

 

I do not support. We have enough titles supporting market separation, especially with people capitalizing on their ranks to either scam or gain an advantage.

It 'can' be beneficial, but it's not worth it. It's different than the SCAR title which at the time and always has been more of a 'fun' rank, just like other programming ranks, perhaps deserved but never have they given market advantages until recently.

If you do support this, then combine it with SCAR to make 'Pascal', or just a general, 'Coder' would work. Since Java is more prominent than Pascal and always has been, I'd consider that before a 'Simba' rank. To explain in more detail, the villavu community has never been one to prosper, bot nuke occurred and leeches flew in by the heeps, now they're leaving and due to recent Simba issues quite fervently too. Powerbot, Rarebot, Epicbot, & tribot are all far more popular now, and the next step in botting would be in Java & OGL by tribot. Unless the one single directx developer on simba finishes his project.

 

Someone make the rank and Matthew will add it.

I feel as if the rank is going to cause entirely too much drama. People are going to be so strung up on getting the rank I believe we're going to see a lot of plagiarism. When something is depicted as easily obtainable (although it may not be) it causes people to do illogical things.

 

I disagree for a couple reasons. First off, RSBot is just a baby compared to SRL; it doesn't, and never will, have the history in the RS cheating scene as Scar/Simba do. Secondly, what happens if RSBot breaks (again) and is no longer usable? Kinda makes the rank a worthless thing to have, doesn't it?

Oh yeah one more factor; Simba can be used on just about anything. Whatever games, websites, Simba is very dynamic.

Looks great. One small change I would make is making the heads a little bigger and closer together.


As for myself, I'm all in favor of this thread, as expected. Should the rank be implanted then please someone in the staff be sure to explain on how to gain this rank here on the Sythe forums. I'll be more than happy to prove myself, as I know a few others with shared intentions.

If it were any bigger, it would exceed the maximum size a rank can be.

 

RSBot has been around for basically just as long as Simba. It's just a modified version of SCAR specialized for RS. You don't use Simba for other games you use SCAR. The fact is the rank should be called Pascal Programmer and SCAR rank should be removed so we have 1 rather than 2.
