it looks like it will just be cosmetic as of now and i dont think they will add actual items to the store.

 

Wait 2 weeks, for when the "Buy XXX Coins!" and "Buy XXX Experience!" option magically appears in Solomon's shop. I see Jagex as a less popular Sythe now, IMO. xD

 

Doesn't affect me, and it shouldn't affect you. Everyone is just looking for a reason to waste their time raging. It's not even Jagex's fault for the SOF in the first place. It was the investors who wanted it. So jagex just added content to it. They're going to make sure it doesn't ruin the balance of the game. So stop complaining.

 

The Assassins pack is over $50 CAD... You've got to be kidding me. That's for a shitty outfit and an emote.

This is just another way jagex makes money, if they want more money why don't they just raise the cost of membership?

Firstly:
Are they making you buy these?
Why are you all bitching about this when you don't have to buy it do you? I understand if membership costs went up but they don't in anyway make you buy these things. Even if your account got banned for botting and you want to 'buy it back', it's because you got caught botting, which is your own fault.

Secondly:
You might troll Jagex for being 'douches' for doing this, or saying they just want it to make money etc, yeah, i'm sure they do, but why would they do it if it didn't work? People are paying for these things, Jagex aren't the dumb ones.

I'm on no side here, just can someone explain what all the rage is to Jagex? Confront it with them.

Like I said it's just good marketing. They don't force you to spend extra money on a game, but also it doesn't give amazing benefits. I know there's at least more than a thousand people willing to buy something in this "general store".

Knew this was going to happen in the end. With the bot nuking they are looking to give people the chance to buy their way to glory instead of botting their way there.

So contradicting, its in the code of conduct of Runescape not to RWT, yet they are now doing it themselves yet at the same time telling us not to do it.

If they go ahead with this update and its actual items of value not untradables, they should remove the RWT rule from the game imo.

 

They're not selling anything that gives you advantages. It's emotes, appearances, titles, costumes, etc. It's not real world trading. Think of other games, an example that I can think of is Gunz or Maplestory. They have item shops, but those items don't really affect game play for other people.

The prices are just ridiculous though, that's what I find funny. Yet for some reason, I know people are going to spend the $50+ CAD on one single costume and emote.

I feel that if Jagex ran an item shop from the very start, no one would have complained. But because people think it's going to affect them, and kill the game, they're raging. If you don't like the items, then it doesn't affect you in any way. People can buy items if they want, but in the end, they're the ones who lose because they bought non-tradable items to make their character look different.

 

It's all cosmetic, it doesn't effect the game at all.

 

Let's hope so. its unfair when people can gain an unfair advantage via the use of real-money, but i guess if its entirely useless cosmetic items then its fine, still despise it, but Jagex don't have a choice against the hungry investors.
