Do I Have Enough Case Fans to Bot?

Do I Have Enough Case Fans? i have a coolermaster 430 black elite it has vents and stuff. is 3 case fans enough to bot for long hours of the day? i was told by someone so i took their word for it, i really don't know how my case could overheat with 3 120mm fans blowing cool air through and out of it but maybe i know nothing. could people who know what they're talking about with computer tech and botting answer this? thank you.

 

Well how many bots are you running, for starters?

 

You won't know until you get it built and see what kind of temps you are getting.
After it built and you start running some, you will see how hot CPU gets (using programs) and then you can decide.

 

it isn't about how many fans you can stuff into your computer its about proper air flow through it. you want the fans to push the air out not create a tornado inside it.

 

Get the Sythe Mugen 3 (or higher number if out).
There awesome cpu coolers for their price but do make some noise if their working hard.

 

LOL. Im botting on my laptop from 2005, still going strong.
Although 3 simba clients are fatal, i can bot 1 simba 1 powerbot or 2 simba.

 

More than enough, if you aren't OC'd and it's properly cooling, and your heatsink isn't absolute trash then you can bot 24/7 for a few years. I've been using my current botting comp with 6+ names for a good 3+ years almost 24/7.

Get a temp checker and sit at 90-99% cpu with max bots going for half a day and see how it's handling it, you may need to switch the fan spots, or reposition, or take one out.

 

Fans or no fans; if temperatures get too high your computer will automatically turn off (unless you messed something up). Getting too caught up on fans and airflow is usually fruitless. Buy a 150$ case with exhaust on the top and back and inflow in the side and front. buy like a 30 dollar aftermarket cpu cooler, basically the ONLY fan you need to buy EVER.

Yes the cpu fans that come with it are usually crap. By the way next time you have a tech question you'll probably get a much better answer in the technology forum.

 

It's hard to give a definite answer. Best way is to just try it and make adjustments along the way.

I run a pretty standard set up, 6 core amd processor with a basic amount of fans (I still need to add the two 120mm side fans) and my core temp is never above 50 degrees when running 15+ hours a day. That's running 6 powerbot tabs on pretty intensive scripts running at 80% cpu usage.
