I agree with FishFishy, most of the people who sell those accounts are people who infect others and steal information.

-Person #1 sells account to Person #2

    -Person #2 changes password

    -Original owner recovers password

    -Person #2 makes a report/accuses Person #1 of scamming.

It's kind of like pin lines how I see it. Don't ask, don't tell. Though I don't agree with it, that is how it is accepted here. I think the excuse was that they aren't going to ask anyone how they got them.

I've suggested against allowing Minecraft accounts to be sold for quite a while.

90% of sales are for cracked/stolen accounts.

Until such a time when Mojang makes it MUCH hard to crack accounts (At the moment its pitifully easy) I think we should disallow the sale of Minecraft Accounts.

If we saw someone asking for help cracking accounts like this on another site they would probably be banned, so why should we allow them to sell it here.

If we allow this then I mean what's next we allow people to sell lists of logged runescape accounts?

It's like half enforcing a rule. You can steal some accounts, but not others. I mean common, we should go one way or the other with it....

I agree with you, but I am just saying that the answer you will most likely get will be the same excuse as *******s. We don't ask them where they get them.

It's crazy and I think that it should be banned, but the chances that it will be isn't likely.

I would imagine the small majority of Minecraft accounts that are actually obtained through legitimate purposes should be allowed to be sold, although if the seller could show proof that they bought the account from Mojang or whoever then I wouldn't have a problem with it. Anyone who just posts threads up for MC accounts that seem shady or otherwise should just have them locked.

Cracking MC accounts would come under Black hat by the way.

I myself have got two people banned for selling stolen Mincraft accounts, but only because they made it apparent that they were phised/stolen. I totally agree with you to be honest, anyone selling hundreds of accounts at 5% of the cost of purchasing the accounts has definitely stolen them. I don't think it should be allowed whether or not there is proof to suggest they are stolen. Because it's obvious that nobody would buy 1000 Minecraft accounts for a -95% return. Surely cracked accounts fall under blackhat activities anyway? But for sure, the two people I came across actually admitted they were stolen, and one was selling accounts for days and days before I noticed and reported him.

The steam/origin accounts are mostly or if not all legit, they are much harder to crack/steal than minecraft accounts, not to mention much easier to recover.
