Do people still scam their money back through paypal?

Couple years back people would send paypal as a gift and still get the money back somehow.

If i wanted to sell a maxed pure is this still around and if it is how can I get around it and sell without getting scammed?

It's still very common. People can pay through Paypal using their credit card, then go directly to their bank and tell them it's unauthorized, no questions asked. I had to do it once when I sent someone a payment and they never ended up giving me the item (it was back when I played another game), it takes minutes to do. I never accept Paypal since I realized how easy it was.

They will send the money from a different IP address by using a proxy or VPN. Then they'll receive the items and claim that it was an Unauthorized Transaction -- meaning someone else accessed their Paypal account and bought items.

Completely illegal, but Paypal sees that it was a different IP address and can't prove one-way-or-another, so the person usually gets the money back -- unfortunately, it's after you've send them virtual goods which can't be reclaimed.

Check out the website PlayerAuctions.com (often abbreviated PA on Sythe); they act as a trusted middle-man and guarantee you a safe transaction. They do take a small percent of your money as a fee, and I think call you to verify information, but you will be protected against being scammed and can use PayPal to collect payment (through PlayerAuctions, of course).

I know there are threads about PlayerAuctions on Sythe, if you search around. :)

Use Western Union or sell for RSGP, then sell the RSGP for PayPal to someone you trust.
