well with the fat cats in washington choosing what is safe instead of someone with a PHD I see this being a long grueling thing. it will be a very long time yet before it is actually legalized. but yes I see it a when instead of a if.

I do not believe Marijuana will be legalized.

Why do i think this?
Well firstly, Marijuana is known as a gateway drug, it is what most Heavy Drug Uses begin with.

 

you state "Well Firstly..." when you say that you usually have more things to say, Secondly Marijuana is in no way a gateway drug. Just because people say it and think it dosnt mean anything thats just people assuming. I smoked pot for 6 months streight EVERY day, and not once did i want or feel the need to try any other drug.

Also to your comment about what most heavy drug users start out with, that may be true but that dosnt mean it's the gateway drug for them trying other drugs. Marijuana is relaxing and should be looked at as a medicine than a Drug.

i highly doubt it will be legalized by 2015. the idea of dispensaries and it being legal here is a great idea though. all the money would be taken out of the mexican cartels pockets, cartels which murder and cause great harm using the money they get from growing and smuggling the marijuana into this country. its funny how there are rapes murders robberies assaults arson and more, but they have time to raid weed shops. it should be on the lowest priority in my opinion, people who dont want it legalized are honestly ignorant.

I don't think it will ever become legal, too many politics involved, nobody running for election would ever support that, who votes ? Old people.
Younger generations are extremely vocal, but don't vote. Politicians cater to who votes not who bitches.

At least for America, I do not think that it will be legal anytime in the near future "2-5 years" I think it is more in the ballpark of 10-20 years....when most of use are in our 30s and 40s.

Reason being, most the time in rough times the country doesn't really do much "change" or big movements like this. The country for the most part stays conservative during rough times it seems and stays to traditional ideas. Civil Rights movement was in the mid 50s to 60s which were decent times. Womens rights movement was in what the late 10s and early 20s which were again good times during the progressive movement. The antebellum reform era even was during the what 1830s-1850s, good times as well. Then looking during times like the 1860s-1880s, 1930s, 1980s, all were very bad times with no real reforms and kept conservative ideas. Reason for the switch to conservative ideas is just because people for some reason have felt more "safe" during conservative times.

When I say conservative, I don't mean a republican "or democrat for the 1800s and early 1900s" has to be president. Conservatism, is just the idea of keeping things the way they are. Do I agree we need to keep things the way they are now? No absolutely not, but I don't see the country jumping to any big movement in bad economic times.

I think when the economy evens out again then a few years after that this could be up for question.

 

I do not think marijuana will be made legal for practical purposes, it would only be to get some people out of the really crowded jails. I personally think cigarettes should be illegal, and their legality does not justify marijuana's.

Also, marijuana harms your brain in a way cigarettes do not. I'm not sure if it's temporary, I'm not sure how exactly it happens, but no one who's been around smokers would ever be able to look me in the eye and truthfully tell me they slow down if they smoke too much. I've seen it happen multiple times and science will definitely prove this eventually.

I really don't understand why so many states are making it legal, and its still not legal within the country....it's a load of shit..
