Your views of America?

I don't like America all that much, I do enjoy all the restaurants though.
Whenever I go to America it seems that there is a lot of racism.

Just get over it. There will always be stereotypes. Fat/lazy/ugly americans aren't the only ones. How about big-assed brazilians? or bad-driving, math-know-it-all's from China? or Sleepy yet somehow hardworking mexicans? or how about super-fast running kenyans? or how about KFC/watermelon loving african americans?

Pretty much every country/race has a stereotype. The more you are obsess about the generalization of Americans, the more it will affect you. Once you just let it go, you will realize that it's not really that big of a deal.

Our crime rates are actually fairly low, if I recall my stats correctly. Our very harsh prison sentences actually do work, most likely because the people who would be breaking the law more are locked up and it deters new offenders at least some what.

your generalizing. every country has people who only care about themselves. the poverty is in our country is getting worse because we send out millions\billions of dollars all the time to help other countries and borrow money from other nations [ china etc.] to do this which only pushes us further in debt and we get nothing back from doing this which obviously you can't make something from nothing. there lies the problem. we shouldn't help others [ at least as much as we do] when our own people have so many problems.

i like it here in america... but the things i dont like consist of our government and the lack of jobs. i dont spend time on politics but obama doesnt appeal to me and i feel like hes just making this country worse.

 

My view on America(as an American). Our government tries to stick it's nose into everything and ends up screwing it all up. We should only go in places if we are asked and not while we are trillions of dollars in debt. We should help the world but first we must help ourselves. We shouldn't be helping people by handing them money, instead we should provide them jobs.

 

I live in PA and my parents are Dominican, I love this country man.

I just don't like certain big city's, I was raised in Jersey and I hated New York all my life. Its always dark and it seems like it never shines there.

The US has been in a huge mess since Bush took office and decided he was going to fight an immutable idea. Pumping trillions of dollars into military action has made a huge negative impact on the US. I like the US, and the people where I am from are generally nice. (All but the rednecks) People who don't live in or who have never been to the US generalize the US as stupid and fat and that is a misconception portrayed by the ridiculous television we put out. Some people hate the US but they're millions of people who come here still.

 

Some of the people are nice, some of the people are bad. (Such as some people are dicks in Canada, some people are nice!) But i just really don't understand American politics, like seriously. You guys vote in a president, then vote in the memmbers (of parliament?) So you guys have a government that can't get anything done. (Republicans in the seats, democratic president). Nothing passes, nothing gets done, and the you guys blame obama. What is this, i don't even.....

 

Personally I don't know much about their financial situation (they're in the shit is all I know) and politics etc. They seem to have many major issues though. I still love them though because they have NFL haha.

OT- i live in america and i like it for the most part, but i want to move to canada because i went to vancouver and i really liked the energy there, everyone was really friendly and the citys landscape was really cool, and the view from the hotel i was in had an amazing view of the mountains, i will be moving there eventually.

as a few other people have already posted. every nation has the same problems and every group of people has some of the same disliked traits.

 

americas financial situation is bad but it's way better than almost all countries in the world, i was talking to a friend that came over from ireland to work in my old town and he said there are like no jobs in ireland at all so he came here, he said the economy is totally shit there.

 

Honestly I live in America and I will be 100% honest about how it is.

First of all a large portion of America is people who want to "feel good" about themselves by doing a temporary act that will temporarily boost there moral feelings. (Thus the reason we have so many "trends") People just follow a bandwagon and if anyone they feel is important objects to it, everyone agrees and follows that person. The amount of people who think for themselves is drastically low.

Another problem is the amount of people who want hand outs. I understand the whole bad luck seminar. I've felt it, and I have gone to my friends for financial support. But not for free. If I need money I work for it, I offer labor in return for profit. (whether it be lodging, food, money, transportation, etc) A large portion of Americans (white/black/asian/hispanic/etc) expect that the government is responsible for there financial status. The problem is the government expects other governments to be responsible for the American financial status. Thus the theory of Americans never taking responsibility for anything becomes true, and suddenly we look like a bunch of hypocritical bullies.

Now I do love the States. I believe this is a beautiful country with strong influences in media and the modern arts. I believe the people here aren't terrible people, they are just confused and misguided by a corrupt government.

The people want something, they make a small issue about it, the government gives it to them, everyone expects to get everything for free, repeat.

I do not affiliate with large political affairs here anymore. The government is useless to work with, and it seems no one will ever get a long. The people are ignorant, and there's no point in trying to make people change there mind.

For those of us who are in America and still have knowledge to think for ours self, then praise you.
