I should have been more specific, it's not a member at the moment. That means that it's not going to be ready for transfer until the buyer puts members on it.

 

I'm new to name transfers, so I'm just wondering if I can transfer the name as soon as I become a member, or do I have to wait 28 days after membership is activated?

 

I'll elaborate best that i can.

When you buy a display name, you have 28 days before you can transfer the name. This process, involves making the account a member, changing the display name from 'i7' to something else, doesn't matter what. So that being said, when members is applied, you have to change the name and wait 28 days in order to swap it over to another account.

So in terms of a name being ready to transfer, you can always check by adding it in runescape, and seeing if the display name is "Last Known As". Basically what "Last Known As" says, is that the name has been changed from the Last known as name, to the current name the display name that the account has. Here's a picture example.



If you can see that picture clearly, the last known name was "Dog". What that means is that the owner of "Dog" has changed his name to 'puppies1234' in order to transfer "Dog" to another account. This display name either is ready for transfer, or will be within 28 days. How you transfer, is you basically do what the person in the photo has done, but you do that again. What changing your name will accomplish, is it will make 'puppies1234' the last known as name of the account, thus pushing dog off of the account, making it available for the taking. If you need further help understanding this, let me know.



This, is a display name that is not changed. This happens to be my display name, i7. as you can see, there's no icons, the name isn't last known as, which means my name is still i7. In order to make this name like similar to the picture above, You need to make the account a member, and change the name to anything random.
