So... sup with botting nowadays?

Hey all just came back to RS after a 1-2 year-ish break. Back when I quit there were dozens of awesome bots (I used rsbots.org I think it was) but where have they all gone? I don't mind paying good money for a secure and reliable bot. (mainly a hunter bot, a AIY Combat, and a Runecrafting bot)

Also I've done some research but maybe someone can break it down a bit better. What is with the bot nuke? How many people actually got banned, and is there supposed to be another one soon? Which could explain the hard to find bot problem.

The Botnuke that took place a few months ago completely removed Reflection bots thus killing most bots like RSBots and them leaving color bots behind which were not that popular at the time. Color bots are now still functional and have risen up in popularity. People didn't expect any change like other times before it took place but after, they were proven wrong. People weren't necessarily mass banned to my knowledge, bots were just killed.

It was announced by JaGeX that there was gonna be another botnuke to further kill bots that's suppose to apparently happen sometime during July.

Use Simba (its a color bot). It's not really noob friendly but you can easily pick it up and once you learn it, its easy. You'll need to hire a private scripter to properly script it with Simba or look at their forums for one. The quality of the script depends on the scripter as you know so there are really crappy scripts and functional ones. Google "VillaVu" and click on the first link to go to their forums.

 

epicbot works fine and rarebot, powerbot too.

 

wouldnt use epicbot though, lots of complaints about fishy stuff : /

And heard the stuff about epic bot. And rarebot's selection is kinda meh imo.

 

Yeah either pay for a custom simba script or, if you have the money for it, try out RiD (Robotz in Disguise). These bots are kind of like pay per hour, though literally no one has been banned by using them.

 

Yeah, RiD (Robotz in Disguise) would also be my advice to you. Best bot I've ever seen.

 

I'd personally use Robotz In Disguise, I've botted on my main with it for over 3000 hours, earning 13+ 99's over 2 years, being reported over 40 times that I've witnessed, and even by Player Mods, and I still have 0 macro offenses. They only have 12 bots, but they can train 18 skills to 99 with those bots.

There's never been a ban following guidelines since it was brought to it's current quality in 2008. Even breaking guidelines, only 37 bans over 4 years and over 600,000 hours botted by the community. There's hasn't been any bans, period, since the last bot nuke in October, even guideline breakers.

 

Yea def got RiD a while ago and LOVE IT. Now just a Soul Wars bot and I would love em forever

 

powerbot is pretty user friendly and has a massive variety of scripts to choose from. I'm not sure about hunting, but personally I've used SudoRunespan and it is the best runecrafting script of all time! PB also has a bandit killer script which isn't bad for combat xp

 

Although Bots have returned, how long do you suspect the next fix will be when the second bot nuke arrives. It took months for the recovery of the first nuke (in powerbots case anyway).

I might not wait around for it to survive the second nuke. :/

 

simba, scar and rid was untouched by the first bot nuke and will be untouched by the second bot nuke.


The only thing so far jagex has done is increase randoms and give the minimap a does of heroin

 

I personally recommend Powerbot, it's reliable and fairly easy to use.

 

^ Actually.. scar, simba and rid has nearly 0 down time (rid might've had like 1 day 2) since they were released. And we do have script that was working 3-5 years ago that are still working now since its in color.

 

I full back above, colour botting is the safest way forward, Java botting is the unsafe but quick way forward.

 

This is true. Simba/scar are simply platforms, that can be updated immediately after any graphics update, so there's never much wait for any script to be fixed, and if you can't wait, you can even code a fix yourself!

RiD has 99%+ uptime over 4 years, usually whenever there's a massive graphics change that effects all bots, it usually only takes a day or two to bring them back up to normal.

Simba/Scar and RiD work in similar ways; Pascal, for Simba, Java color, for RiD. So they both rarely ever go down very often, nor for very long.
