    Not sure if forms right or not. Shoulda kept the cam a bit far away so we could see your back while u do it

    Saw a thread of yours, gjdm on the weight gain brah. Would rep irl.

    Vid isn't to check for form, it was to mark progress. I'm comfortable enough with the lift to understand when and if my form breaks down. On a repeated viewing of the video I'm using dem hamstrings for the first part of the lift and back for the rest, textbook form brah.

    Really? So you think the hitching on your 4th and 5th rep is good form? Look I'm not trying to shit on your accomplishment, I know that feel of finally hitting a 3 plate deadlift. It's exciting. But your form isn't textbook and you can easily slip/rupture a disk by hitching like that. Deload and get it right or risk seriously injuring your back and never being able to deadlift/squat again...

    Genuinely surprised someone else on a non lifting forum knows the term "hitching". I appreciate the honesty and critique, really.

    I disagree on hitching as a cause of injury though, the 315lbs is light enough that hip drive resulting in an injury is a negligible chance. And think about the bio mechanics of the lift, the danger comes from a lifters inability to bring the load past the knees. By the time I'm dragging it up my thighs the pressure is largely off my back.

    Also, max effort deadlifts are rarely pretty no matter who you are. 315 is not my working weight as of yet, I just went for the best 5rm I could.

    Also, You aware? You could just be some random who read some articles on the movement or you're actually a lifter, PM me brah.

    *edit* Upon me just doing research based on very real concern about your above statement, Pha que2, from now on if I have to hike it up to lock out I'll just drop the weight. I found it really isn't dangerous as it is just bad lifting etiquette, many people frown upon it because you're sort of "cheating". Also means my back is not the weak point, it's my glutes/abductors. Will hit that glute/ham raise machine from now on. We all learn something new every day =D

    pretty bad form if i may say,

    1. you want your shins to be nearly vertical, and lower back straight
    2. hitching put stress on disks

    Hey, thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. Been working on the hitching issue, I'm aware now, I'll no longer do it. As I said previously I'll just ditch the bar if it comes to it. Otherwise it's evident my legs are doing the majority of the work, my "form" is only suspect at lockout, which like I also said before I'll work on it. Please, if you have any videos of you lifting twice your body weight for a couple reps post them here, I'd love to see proper form for a max effort pull.

    Any mods want to change the thread to a general weightlifting title? Figure others can contribute if they wish and make this thread more accessible to non or new lifters.

    this. never the less congrats on the lift, but as I've always said its not what you lift, its how you lift it. last thing you want is to get an injury and be put out of gym for months for trying to show off a high rep ^_^
