Do you think Runescape will ever shutdown?

Runescape will shutdown at some point.

But Jagex is just going to focus on another game and gain profit from it.

 

This game isn't immortal, it will last for a long time, but eventually it will end.

 

Runescape- maybe 5 years
Jagex- 20+ if they pass off the right presidents to run it and keep putting out good games and updates

 

Ill give it 2-3 years....the prob just move to a new game..prob not as good as runescape and then shut down jagex

But considering all the traffic the game has been getting, and the money they're making... I see it lasting quite awhile.

 

Everyone saying 3-7 years is way off lol This game has a lot more years then that you got to remember how big this game is people will keep quitting and people will keep joining trust me it has a loooonnnng time till its over

 

That's complete bull, unless you got great banks on all of them accounts around 2200 are not worth $500 ea. LOL I mean look in the sythe pages an account like that is lucky to get a couple hundred mill for it x)

 

I completely agree, exactly what i think. When runescape starts to die down they will probably release a new game maybe relating to runescape or something, who knows.

 

If you look on their site, it shows them looking to employ over 50 new staff. They got a good run to go yet, even 10 or more years

 

Maybe, but if you look at all the shitty updates that most of the community dont like e.g: SoF combat rework etc. people would be more likely to quit and they would lose out on revenue

 

Runescape will have to end at 1 point wether it is in 10 years or 100 years nobody will know.

 

It will eventually end soon. They make shitty updates ALL the time. Ive been a member sibce 04' - 05' and I recently deactivated my membership. I wont be coming back.

what is with everyone saying runescape only has 3-10 years. to be honest i wouldn't be surprised if this game has 20-30 years left.

 

I believe it will last for another 10 years at least. The game will be sold off to other companies or passed on and they'll continue it. What we have now that we say is "shit" and worthless will be worth so much later on, remember that!

 

No, alot of people who has 1 year membership, and then get shut down they would be sued. And they have a huge company so the percent of being shut down is below 1%.

 

Yes, RuneScape is done after the combat update.

 

As long as the money is there it won't shut down, right? The game has always been extremely popular, and they are obviously hoping the new combat system will bring some people from WoW and other MMORPG's to Runescape. Until the point where the profits are no longer worth it, Runescape will be around. I'll give it about 10 years (it seems crazy to me too to think it could be around in 2022)
