Will the current runescape become the new classic when update happens?

I am genuinely curious . I really dont like the beta at all, and would love to play the current runescape as the new "classic" . has anyone heard of this happening?

 

Hmm, the thought hasnt really crossed my mind. I doubt rs2 will really live on in any way shape or form outside of private servers. Also RSC has kinda been on the outs for quite a while, atleast thats how it has seemed to me. Give the new update a chance its really not all that different and the beta is just a beta, nothing is set in stone. Either way i hope they dont nerf RSC i still like to bop in there and reminisce here and there.

I would like that to happen, it would be a win-win situation as well. Since Jagex could get their money, and we would get a game that we like.

Making Combat update related worlds and Rs2 worlds the way it is now.

 

Have it where you could option to play RSClassic, Runescape, or Runescape2.

 

Hold on I'm confused, will our profiles be transferred over to the new server if we want them too? Because if they don't then i think they should implement the server in too "worlds". I'm a skiller and im about to get 99 rc. and if i loose it, i would probably stop playing runescape all together.

 

i think you mean runescape, runescape2, then awesome fun runescape adventure time!

 

The current incarnation of runescape is runescape 2. what people call rsc or runescape classic is the original "runescape" and now we have the beta which could fairly safely be called runescape 3 after it is implemented in september

 

There isn't going to be a "Runescape 3" as such, everything you have will be exactly the same once they complete the update.

 

Of course not. Classic is classic. You cant change that just by introducing a newer version of RS

Considering they reworked the whole combat system, so I guess they can separate both games.

Will make people more happy.

 

That doesnt make any sense. theres no way jagex would continue to suport servers for 3 different game versions.

 

I think they should have it:

RSClassic. 2001 - 2003. (ok.)
RuneScape. 2004 - 2008 (best)
RuneScape 2. 2008 - 2012 (graphical and arm and that kind of shit updates)
RuneScape 3. 2012 - Present (the failed combat rework shit.)

 

Then the runescape classic now would turn into runescape ancient xD

 

I personally love the new combat beta, because current runescape is getting very boring tbh.

 

They said they don't open up their Classic anymore is because they don't want their players playing a game they don't manage or update anymore. Splitting the game into two versions isn't as easy as pressing a button, it would require a lot of unneeded work. And then people would expect the current Runescape to be updated as well as the Combat Updated version, but they would be wanting to use their time to make their new games better. Sort of like how they no longer do anything to CoD4 when the other came out. I believe this had little to no chance of happening, and if it does, people won't be happy with it.

If you want your old combat system just go play a private server.
