Thoughts and Views on new update: Social Slayer

-This update makes you able to complete slayer tasks TOGETHER with your friends
-All kills made will be put towards both kill counters
-XP isn't shared :/
-Slayer masters will have a special shop for points you earn after completing tasks with a friend!
-The shop should include: New pets, Shared potion effects, maybe other things!

I'm asking that you tell me your opinion of the update, will you be participating, and what do you think will come of it?

My opinion: I think it's going to be great, bring you and your mates closer together! I haven't got a great start on slayer, and I think this will be my chance to do so!

 

I think not sharing XP is a good thing, you recieve a full compensation oppose to half.

 

I haven't been on today, but does this mean you can now "leech" Slayer, like with Dungeoneering?

 

I mean... if your partner does all the kills then yes... lol

 

Not for actual slayer xp as the xp isnt shared but say your friend and you start a slayer assignment together and he kills them all it counts towards your streak as though you did it. So it would seem possible to claim these new rewards by leaching. The whole thing sounds pretty cool for tasks you hate but dont want to block entirely ex: living rock creatures (for me atleast good xp but soooo time consuming) Part of the fun in slayer for me is running into the other random slayers, ive met some pretty cool people that way. Im glad the slayer xp isnt shared, honestly if it were like dung it would piss me off alot seeing as i have 86 slayer the old/legit way took alottt of hours in game.

 

its pretty lame, but im not complaining. Slayer is like the only skill left until comp cape for me and if I cb'f to lose points cancelling a task, I can just have someone kill, lets say fire giants, and I can sit there a leech a bit. I guess this helps if you cant really afford to lose slayer points by cancelling a task, but meh Jagex could have done more with this update.


I still dont get why they are trying to make the game easier and easier everyday. Where is the respect for older players??

Anyways I do not think this will be fun, or at least it won't for me. Are they trying to gradually make Rs as easy as private servers now?

It's a good concept, but knowing RS there will be a bug out for only 5 hours and everyone will have 99 Slayer from it.
I think the partner shop type thing would have to be worth the hassel. Right now the best familiar for summoning is either a healing one, or a BoB. The pet would actually have to participate for anyone to be obliged to get it.

 

I do think MMG is doing well at making the game more social. I think this is a good way to do it, regardless of being "easier" or not.

What about level threes now with 99 slayer? Would that be possible now?

Level 3's will not have 99 slay ever, due to the combat update, every player will start out cb lvl 11. Even without the update I do not believe it would be possible.

 

There have been lvl 3's with 99 slayer, i have personally seen a few. You get it from cashing in soulwars zeal on slayer xp. They just use bandages for ages and get 99 eventually. That said this new update does NOT give xp to the person who isnt killing it just helps them finish their task faster by having your kill count/task put together. So in short it will have no effect on low lvls trying to leech xp.

 

Level 11? Isn't it level 4? And level 3's can have 99 slayer, it is called 12k zeal

 

i like the idea but with the new combat rework it's still lame, monster killing looks so stupid now.

 

I'm really excited because slayer kinda sucks in general in my opinion.

 

You just blew my mind. Its my favorite skill to train but i could see how teaming with people will maybe draw a few more into it. At higher lvls its really quite fun and profitable, once this buddy system goes into effect more people will come around on slayer.

 

At least Slayer will be easier.

 

This would be good for doing those "stupid" tasks a lot faster when in the same sense, I wouldn't use it often as the lack of slayer xp. The point of getting a task is to get the exp from the kills therefore if someone else gets me kills without xp, it's completely useless.
