People on the dole.

So, I was just walking from work to the train station, and I witnessed four chavy people, sat on a bench drinking cheap cider, and I thought to myself how get the money to pay for this, as they probably don't work.

Anyway, it frustrates me how people can just sponge of hard working people without any effort, and all they do is spend it on alcohol/drugs,
This is what they do all day & everyday.
I work 8 hours a day and have done since I left school.

What's your opinions of this matter?

 

You sir, judge the book by the cover. Those chavy looking people could be lawyers, or doctors.

But if there aren't lawyers/doctors, I think they need the money. Otherwise they might resort to crime to obtain money.

 

How DARE they live a life of leisure while you work your ass off!!!

No but seriously you have goals in your life, they might or not but it doesn't matter. Rule #1 mind your own fucking business unless someone else is going to instigate on you.

Still, not an excuse to get drunk day in and day out while people earn an honest living.

Not to be rude but whining about this wont help, what people do with the money they are given is their own business. If they would rather buy a bottle than better themselves thats their own prerogative. You should pity them not pass judgment on them. They need help not just another person looking down their nose at them.

It has the same concept of civilians claiming unemployment, using it for unethical habits and wants oppose to needs. I'm not for giving others my money I had to put labor into. Being homeless is a choice, as is my choice not to give them money.

 

It winds me up too. Far too many people like that in the UK at the moment. Personally I think that benefits are too generous. It should be the bare minimum you need to live. Not enough for the bare minimum plus cheap cider.

 

People that don't work won't understand.
After 8 hours at work. Walking home and seeing people living off my taxes irratates me. There's no reason for them not to work.
They should be homeless if they're not willing to work for their money!

 

I'm on JSA at the moment, (Job Seekers Allowence) you don't get much like £120 every 2 weeks untill you find a job. It is quite hard to get a job I have applied for over 50 jobs I guess the other week I got 9 rejection emails in one day made me feel bad but i'll keep on trying till I get a job!

 

There are lots of reasons that individuals might be on benefits, so I try not to let it upset me or make blanket statements about people who are.

 

Well, ask yourself a question, maybe they have business online or maybe they have reach parents far away or maybe they sold you some rsgp already )

 

You shouldn't judge a book by its cover because they are chavy people drinking liqour. For all you know, they probably have more money than you and laughing their ass off that someone is making a thread about them

you shouldn't worry about people and just about yourself only. for all we know, they probably stole it or begged for it on the streets for money.

 

You shouldn't judge other people, especially when you have no idea what the reasoning is behind their lifestyle. You don't know what circumstances in their lives lead them to sit on a bench and drink liqour, or what drives a person to use drugs. You don't know anything about their lives and what kind of people they are. Just because they are drinking during the day doesn't necessarily mean that they are lazy, homeless, or unwilling to work.

You only saw them for a few moments, so you have absolutely no idea what their lives are like. You also don't know how they got the money. They might work for all you know and were just enjoying themselves with a few drinks. It's not like it's that expensive anyways. You're just judgmental and arrogant if you can look at a few men drinking and just automatically assume they are just lazy drunks who steal to buy alcohol.

Now judging someone for doing drugs/drinking is just wrong too. People have a right to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. People turn to drugs for a lot of reasons and many times it's to ease the pain in their lives. You don't know what they've been through. You probably haven't done drugs either from the looks of it, so you have no right to judge others for doing them or question why they do when you don't know shit about them. Some people can do drugs and drink to an extent and still live successful and happy lives. I know many people, including myself. You aren't any better just because you don't.

Maybe they were homeless for all you know. You don't know anything about these men, so stop acting like you do. You seem to be very delusional and sheltered.

 

Personally I think transfer payments are okay but they should be closely monitored to prevent leeches pooling their money to purchase drugs and alcohol, as is prevalent in New Zealand.

 

Think realistic, who would sit around watching people to make sure they don't leech.

OP needs to get off his period and just move on. The men drinking had nothing to do with you and didn't harm you in any way, so I don't see why you get so upset as to make a thread about it.
