Really excited for it in general but I wish the development team wasn't comprised of 15 year olds. A team of people who knew what they were doing and how to secure their website would go so far with this.

 

It's a nice server, but i think it's overhyped. With loads of crashing and little p2p content. I think it'll eventually get good, but they seriously need to get some good coders in there to fill in the massive content gaps and patch all the glitches.

 

It's pretty good, just in pre-alpha stage and dcs alot. It runs pretty smooth sometimes but it starts to lagg after 20 minutes of being online. I got some pretty decent screenshots ingame:

alpha will last 3 months, then everything resets, names included.

 

Wow a lot of people are on. I can't wait until it is fully open so we can all play.

 

Provided that the development team actually made some effort to secure their site + game more, I could see myself giving it a try at least.

 

im really frustrated with all the hype surrounding this and not being able to play it. i was convinced it was just vaporware for the longest time. hopefully it will come through one of these days and they get their shit together. i honestly feel sorry for the people who have donated so far.

Names won't reset and pre-alpha will be for a month and a half or so.

The first time that I checked the domain it wasn't released yet
the second time that I decided to check it was a redirect to a hacking website
the third time(currently) it redirects you to soulsplit..

Sounds like a really cool server if they ever actually get their domain back

 

06scape.com bro, just tried it and it's working perfect for me.

 

"RS2006" "2006Scape" "06Scape" is founded by a 15 year old leacher who downloads sources and rips contents from it to his own, he has a 14 year old security who pays others to hack for him (he believes DDoS'ing is hacking), i played pre-alpha and its the shittest coded server ever, lagg and dc makes you non-testable. RuneScape has put in their T&C that they will never allow any sort of illegal interactions meaning that rsps's are illegal for RuneScape just like Sythe's RuneScape market.... The server has failed, in security, in content, in team and in maturity.

The staff has some very nice a mature people. Professional en semi-pro coders are now beeing hired with the cash from the donations and I'm sure that development will get a nice boost since Pre-Alpha.
Founder never claimed he made the server from scratch.

I played quite some time and more than half of the time I played I had a lag-free experience. More than 4k bugs are reported.

 

I've played rs since 2005, i've created RSPS's since 2009, i am more experianced then they are, the "coders" that they have are partly retired, blakeman was apparently one of them (first coders of runescape private servers) but Vault lied about that, and yes he did claim he made it from scratch, go to Rune-server.org and check the project thread, you dont know anything about them, all you know is the news from their website which is fake. They will fail, he goes to secondary school and expects to achive a proffesional game to be a success like RuneScape. Do some research before you post.

I honestly think that it will not be like the old times of runescape, it's not going to be the same. No same feeling, nothing. I hope jagex releases actual 05 copy of runescape as a server to play (just like rsc).

Jagex will probably not help, even if 2006scape offers them lets say, 50% of all profits, given that they will use a membership type of program after the official release. Jagex are just money whores and quite frankly are butt hurt when anybody tries to make something good that has anything to do with their game.
But then again, runescape is dying anyway so maybe they will listen to the players for once and actually help out 2006scape.
Of course I'm just waiting for the final release since I can't currently donate.
