Lottery Tickets, Scratch Cards!

Hey guys,

Have you guys ever bought a scratch card or a lottery ticket and won something, big or small feel free to share your winnings here.

Here is mine, I don't buy many tickets or scratch cards. If I am on my way back from somewhere and pop in to a shop to buy something if I got a spare £1 coin from change i'll either buy a scratch card or a ticket. Most I have won on a scratch card is £77 on a "Add up to 7" card. Got 4+3 and won £77, that was a touch. On the lottery most I have won is £10 what isn't too bad. So what have you won guys?

 

I haven't bought a lotto ticket, but I do buy scratch offs sometimes.

I think I've won like $10 once and that's it.

 

Haha, small wins like $10 are always good. Thats a few beers to make a night out that little bit better.

 

On my friend's 18th birthday we bought him 10 scratch off cards 1 of which was fake and 1 of which was real.. we saved fake one for last and we all got a text saying holy shit I won $500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then we got another text saying holy shit I won another $1000!!!!!!!!!.. we shit ourselves because one of the scratch-offs was actually a winning card for $500

 

Personally I've only ever won like $2 here and there, but I don't play much.

My brother is extremely lucky and wins $5-$20 more than you might think.

And my friends dad has won "small" prizes of ~ $5000 numerous times and he won $250,000 once. I respect him though, because he hasn't spent any of it, and he lives in a trailer park within his means. Without dipping into his lotto winnings he still has enough to do whatever he wants (like buying is bimbo gifts and eating out all the time), and as far as I can tell he lives a fairly content life.
I know if I won that kind of money I would definitely invest it in myself. There's so many business ideas I have, I just don't have the funding nor the time for them.

 

I've always wondered what it would feel like to purchase a scratch card for a friend and have him win like $100,000. Seriously.. not sure if good.. or horrible.

I'd only ever buy my mum or someone a lottery scratch card, I couldn't go to work again and earn £8 a hour when I gave away £100,000 to a mate in a scratch card haha i'd be like aww man.

 

I'd feel happy for the person who got it, but I'd also be extremely sad (maybe even depressed) and angry about it. Eventually I'd make myself get over it though.

Once I got a scratch card for $2 and then I won $2... I suppose it was for the best

 

I don't purchase lottery tickets and the such.

Imo, you're true winnings, regardless of the moment = amount you've won - amount you've spent.

Mostly always a negative, expected gain is so terrible its not worth it.

 

Tbf, scratch cards are a mugs game. I was hooked on gambling thanks to starting off on scratch cards and because of that im now in debt of ~$5,500 thanks to gambling as a whole. The most i ever won was only $156 as well.

 

Not sure if this counts, but when I was a kid, I bought a scratchcard on neopets and won 10k NP, happiest day ever.

The most I won was the most I could get out of a lottery shop which was like $100. I haven't bought too many cards so I have won more than I lost I think. Some of them are much easier to profile your chances to win. Crossword is significantly easier if you profile the card (check and see if there are lots of one off letters, if so then don't pick that one).

But I'd rather play poker at the casino than buy scratch tickets.

 

I like it. As another user said, I think I'm going to buy my friend a real and fake scratch card and see his reaction to the fake one haha

 

The most I've won is 50 $ off of a scratch ticket

 

Most I have won from a scratch off would be $20. My brother on the other hand wins $10-$50 dollars every single time. I remember a few years ago my family went to the dog racing tracks and he would just tell my grandma what horse he wanted to win and she would buy him tickets, he made $200, and he was 9.

 

I've won a couple of times. I won $1,000 on my first ticket and another $250 at a later date. I'm a gambler, but I prefer games that require some form of skill and not completely luck.

 

I only buy them if I have some change in my pocket from buying something in a shop, just a bit of fun ay?
