The Official Combat Beta Thread

Some things about the spirit shields:

Divine, ely and arcane have the same stats, but divine is for melee, arcane for magic and ely for range.
So i think divine will crash.

 

Just seems like a whole new game to learn in terms of combat, I should get 99 slayer before they make it harder o.o

 

I have heard that that is a mistake on Jagex's behalf, and spirit shield will stay as they are ( similar functions )

 

I don't know if it's been posted in here yet, but has anybody tried using no weapons and armor to fight? What is in store for box stakers? I'm very curious as to what happens.

 

Logdotzip made a video on it, and by the looks no worries on that side, not too much changes

 

I forsee slayer being "easier" (faster xp) with the new update; the only main difference is that you won't be able to simply rapier every task. You'll need to rapier some, maul some, cls some, Mage some, and range some.

 

I've heard people have been smuggling items out of the Beta onto the real server

 

Where is your proof? Lol if this is true, Jagex will ban people doing this.

I saw some youtube videos, hard to say if they're real.

 

The new level 95 Prayers are sick, wish they would've been released with the regular combat system though..

 

I'm glad that there won't be too many notable changes. Staking doesn't need to be fixed.

 

I really hope this pulls through and comes out sometime soon.

 

Sadly slayer is now harder and slower.. for example if you read earlier.. I was testing in full torva/divine/cls and a rapier and dual cls's and dual rapiers etc and it still was slower than usual and my hp was drained pretty bad.. so it'll be harder.. and everything's combat level is 5x.. for example a werewolf for zammy is now lvl 120.. an ogre is level 124.. just a few examples i saw in gwd..in wildy the chaos ele is lvl 238 ish or 138.. the hellhounds are lvl 220 or so.. etc.. everything either went up in combat levels or stayed the same so it'll be harder and slower.. rapier will be obsolete imo since att speeds arent really noticeable between the cls/rapier

 

I have no idea how to fight lol..even in Bandos I'm getting seemingly owned. How are kids hitting 2000's an over?

 

The thing I find funny about the BETA, is that people are more interested in trading than anything else.

Everyone wants a PHat set and mask set, etc...

I mean I made a few billion to get supplies like furys and zerker rings...but I am not going out of my mind for phats...But that might be because I have like 3 phats and a mask set (got given the phats, bought the masks for looks..lol)

I feel all rich like...I am going to try bossing later and see how it is.

 

Still lookin forward to test the beta out, i might quit rs tho tbh..

Not liking the changes much. I will probably play rs2006 before too long

 

What's making divine/elysian crash 10-20m+ a day? I didn't get invited to the beta so I can't test for myself, but will they become useless or something?
