Why eat Pork (e.g. bacon, ribs etc.)?

i'f have to agree with jimmy on this one.

the FDA has inspections and has standards food suppliers must adhere too.

this helps keep us safe, granted if you don't cook it throughly enough you may get sick, i don't know about you but when i eat anykind of meat i enver really think about the animal it came from.

once you try meat you never go back.

your veggies have to be cleaned aswell don't they? you just don't go pick some out of a guys feild and pop one into your mouthe do you?

no you take it home, wash it and cook it.

Before posting in a critique fashion you should read the thread, and then consider posting on topic. While grammar is highly valued you have failed to make an argument that contributed towards the discussion.

On topic:

Pork is a great meat source then even the pigs help recycle food refuse, and refusing to eat them due to outdated fears isn't an argument.

 

Any animal is nasty, dogs eat their own poop, yet you still pet them and let them lick your faces.

In a recent study it said that there is feces on 80% of the surfaces around us.

And frankly BACON IS THE SHIT.

 

Oh boy. I really didn't expect this thread to blow up this much....I value all these comments and opinions very much! (Even though a majority of them were arguing about somewhat irrelevant things)
So in summary, pork tastes like: angels on your tongue, heavenly, divine, a portion of heaven in your mouth, orgasmic, indescribable.
Any other reasons for eating pork?

Thanks for correcting my post. I appreciate it. However, you do have to take into consideration that not everyone learns the same thing. In this case, I am pretty sure that what I've learned differs from what you have been taught. Saying "post" rather than "post it" is just as grammatically correct and makes just as much sense. There is a question mark because it's a rhetorical question. Otherwise, your other comments have increased my own knowledge and I'm more aware of my personal grammar mistakes; for that I am grateful.

However, you missed one of the important points of my post: I clearly said I did not want to be "pedantic with spelling, syntax and grammar." I was merely pointing out minor mistakes with the intention of increasing my fellow members' knowledge. I do hope that you don't take this post the wrong way. ^_^

Mud and dirt never makes it into the cardiovascular system or muscular structure of a pig unless its skin is cut open when it's rolling around in the mud. And even then, their immune system eliminates dangerous bacteria. If it's slaughtered before the immune system can complete its job, cooking it kills off bacteria.

Their blood runs through a what's called a "Closed System", meaning the blood never exits the blood vessels, and ideally only oxygen enters via the lungs, not the stomach (eliminating the danger of swallowed mud contaminating their system). Blood runs to the muscles to deposit the oxygen directly, so muscles aren't getting contaminated with mud. And all throughout the process, the blood is filtered in the liver and kidneys.

There's nothing unhealthy about pigs, it's all entirely psychological and metaphysical if you think it's bad to eat pork.

 

well the reason i eat pork is because it tastes delicious!!! There is nothing better (besides steak) on a summer day then BBQ pork chops on the grill. Alos ribs are amazing!! And bacon is the best breakfast food around!! BLT sandwiches with plain Lays . Also bacon is not just a breakfast food anymore have you seen/tried whats new at Burger King??? take a look at this picture!!!! (BTW IT IS DELICIOUS ALSO!!)

 

That is not the case, "why post" implies the questioning of posting in a general sense, not specifically as a reply in this thread. Whilst there are minute differences in spelling between American English and British English, their grammar rules are identical and universal for the language.

Sorry for being pedantic, but there should be a semi-colon instead of a colon after the word "post" since you were not typing a list.

OT: People who don't eat meat don't really get all the protein they need.. sure eat peanut butter or beans but there is (or was im not sure now) a study being done about eating meat and pros and cons.. it was the discovery channel btw and they said that you have to eat around 4lbs of beans or peanuts to equal the protein of a steak.. eating red meat also provided some chemical i forgot which vegetarians are without

 

I can be honest with you and make a very clear point as it seems everyone here has stated.

The reason I myself eat meat or any food, is not because I think it's healthy, or because I think it's cleaner, it's because generally I like the taste of it. I enjoy foods that excite my taste buds.

Now that's me, however the feelings and beliefs of others varies a lot. My religion does not negate what I can or can't eat. Now I'm sure if I followed another religion that went against eating selected foods I wouldn't eat those foods, regardless of the "taste" of the food.

I would never tell anyone to go against there religion for a food, nothing is worth turning you're back on a god. Guilt will always come back and haunt!

The generalization I made was that if someone knew he/she was going to be infracted then why would they post at all. For that reason, I deemed using "it" unnecessary. xxaaronxx46: You make a really good point there. I can say the same thing; I only eat foods that I deem delicious, tasty or appealing. For that reason I despise eating tomatoes x) I also have to agree with what you are saying about religious beliefs and such. It is not my place to pull away someone from their religion nor teach them about it.

This is a good point, although, the process of gathering animal protein was different a millennial ago. It was hunted and butchered in small counts, as to now it's just an industry slaughterhouse that does the work for us.
I feel people should know more "behind-the-scenes" facts about what they eat and how it's processed, because then people may think twice about what they put in their mouth. I myself, am a vegetarian and live a happy, healthy life. Yes, it's a personal choice and I'm not forcing anyone to change their opinions... but, the fact of consuming anything that has a heart, and emotions is just very heartbreaking. The animals we eat also can't stop us from what we do to them either. Overall, I believe you don't need to hunger for meat to obtain protein because there are different healthy choices people can make.

 

Dude, I've seen movies/videos about "factory farming" and yea, the food we eat seems pretty disgusting but c'mon, you can't hate bacon once you've had it.

 

I really enjoy the taste. Of ALL meats.. :3
