As some of you may know, there's a new item that has been added to the game that supposedly only a few people know how to get - The Golden Katana...
Thought this would be a good place to discuss how you might receive this new item, and your thoughts on it...

So after a little bit of reading, some say it's due to not receiving the flaming skull promotion due to buying their game cards at the wrong store. The players that this affected, were awarded a golden katana.

 

I don't know if this is a plus or a minus. Both of these items are sexy lol

 

Looks really cool,I won't mind getting one.

 

I hate items like this, the flaming skull, the golden katana, etc...all items you get for redeeming a 90 day gift card...

I have had my main account on my cc for 3 years non stop and I haven't gotten shit...That is 36 months worth of paying, even when I didn't even play for 8 months because I was moving/getting settled/etc...

I mean they give away these items to people for buying a 30 day/90 day membership and give loyal members nothing...

Yes, but the program sucks and there are no decent items. Also, those items are always there. These items are one time exclusives...

If you compare the two, the loyalty program is garbage...

Also, people who buy cards are getting the same loyalty program as us. It's basically like this, they are too young to have a credit card/can't get a credit card so they get "special" treatment...

 

Why are you complaining? You paid for the game not for some decorative items.

 

I think it was from the Squeal Of Fortune? I'm sure that was a Golden Katana.

 

I am simply stating that it is bullshit...

I pay for the game yes, but I also see all these people getting items just because they use game cards...It's not really fair...

Especially when people who use game cards are normally not a member on a constant basis, but rather buy a game card when ever they decide to become a member..

Jagex also probably gets about the same amount of money from each card sale as a credit card sale...The cards might be like 8-9 dollars, but if you think about what the store gets and what it cost to make the cards, etc...they probably get about the same.

 

The reason only the game cards get it is because its promoting the store they're sold from. When Gamestop or Target sells a runescape card, they also get profit from it. Jagex entices users to buy the game cards instead of using a credit card to give extra profit to the stores selling them, which should then result in more profit for both Jagex and the stores selling the cards

 

I think that it was some other sort of katana you're thinking of.
But to be quite honest, I like that there's a mysterious item out there. (Though I no longer play)

 

These items are all stupid imo, If the item isnt tradable it stupid lol.
