VPS Thread

Okay so I have been on here for the past few days trying to figure out my VPS issue, and I realize that everyone has a topic about everything VPS here!

So I'm making this thread to consolidate it all and save the RS2 Cheating section lol.

My question:

What is the IDEAL VPS specs to run 2-5+ bots (processor speed, ram, bandwidth, etc.)? If you are currently using a host please include their company name.

 

I use Photonvps.com->Xen->Warp1 package. Usually can run 1 bot with no lagg or 2 bots with lagg.

 

I bought a Xen 2 from Chimehost. It has the same specs as a warp 2 server does and is the same price, but they accept payment from your paypal balance not your bank (photon uses bank)

 

But do they have the same cpu and 100% uptime as photonvps.com has? Yes there are many providers out there, but only a select few actually follow through with what they are selling..

 

Yea they have a 99.9% uptime and are a verified company by all kinds of payment methods. They, unlike photon, have 24/7 live support rather than a "leave a message or wait til we are on" support

and yes the cpu is still 8 cores

They have a slightly cheaper Warp 3 like server. It is same as warp 3 but about $5 less too

 

Since no one answered the rule of thumb is 0.5GB ram/bot MIN.

2 bots = 1GB needed at least
5 bots = 2.5GB needed at least

etc.

 

Thank god someone finally got the urge to post this. With my plan I can run 2-4 on the ram it allows me which is pretty good. after 3 it begins to get a tad laggy.

 

If memory serves me correctly there was already an extremely informative sticky which had all the information anyone would need regarding VPS'. Although I think it may have been deleted after the database was cleaned up, I'm going to have a look for it now, however if a mod reads this and it has been deleted is there any chance it could be retrieved? Would save a lot of threads being created regarding the same topic.

 

I agree it would save alot of threads (there are like 10 a day about this when honestly there is a bot nuke coming and it is almost pointless to get one at the moment.)

I'd urge anyone with any questions regarding VPS' to have a look through that thread (I know it's long) but the chances are it has probably answered all of your question 10x times. It is very informative.
