Amd or Intel? Which do you prefer?

Some people prefer intel, some people prefer amd. Which company makes the better processors in your opinion?

 

Definitely Intel for processors. AMD for gfx cards.

 

For processors, Intel 100%.

I've always used AMD for all my computers, but however, after building a new computer a week ago with the Intel i5, I find Intel to be better.

 

Prefer AMD.

 

I have AMD but I prefer Intel. I've only got AMD because I'm poor as fuck and need a job.

 

thats kind of unfair to say isn't it? you just built the computer thus it's probably the best computer you have had which means you haven't had a amd at the same power level as a i5. I've used multiple intels and multiple amds and I like my amds because they do the same as intel just cheaper really. and in some cases out do intel in the performance area however intels stability is nice at times just there isn't enough stability that warrants 3x the price of the same version in amd.

 

I Built an Intel i7-2600k rig about two months ago, and just recently an AMD rig (For our living room) and i would have to say the Intel rig BULLDOZES over the AMD rig, hah.

Overall I prefer Intel anyway.

 

I don't even think there is an amd that can compete with an i5, for gaming that is. For serious computing and modeling and all that, the fx-8150 is nice, but its price is still on par with an i5 that will be just as good, if not better in most applicatioms.

All depends on the type of build I'd be doing. Cheap builds for parents, HTPC's etc I'd probs go with AMD due to cheap quads.

My main rig I'll stick with Intel until AMD can compete again.

 

AMD if I need cheap shit.

Intel for everything else.


I don't buy cheap computer parts, so intel all the way. Don't give me the "but dem 8 core AMD's durr" bullshit, because if you want to play that game lets talk Xeons.

 

I would have to say Intel, AMD is just not to my standards. If you want something cheap and does decent job = AMD. If you are happy to spend some but be rewarded with exceptional performance (depending your processor model), then go for Intel.

As for graphics cards, I would go for Nvidia. More games are optimised for Nvidia drivers these days (to name a few are Skyrim, MW3, BF3 and other popular titles). I don't think I'd ever go for an AMD graphics card however.
