Anyone still play Counter Strike 1.6?

i'll be playing soon once i get a USB mouse for my laptop. it's actually one of the only games along with RS that runs good on my laptop, which is awesome because i love some CS

Fuck you Morten. 1.6 > Source any day of the week. You're crazy if you think otherwise!

1.6 will always be better than source in my opinion. Ex CAL-O,IM,M,P EXP here. I still play from time to time, but it's difficult. My internet sucks in the barracks, and it's far too jittery to properly play 1.6. It also would seem that Steam's support for the game has near-vanished as the in-game server search is buggy at best.

Been playing CS:GO lately though, and it seems quite promising. Better than source at least.

State of the game atm? used to LAN it in boarding school 3 years back, we held late night tournaments. Was so good we placed silly rules like all the Chinese students couldn't be on one team because it made the competition imbalanced, every now and then we did a £2 buy in per player, so 5v5 = about £20 pot, winning team obviously doubled their money. Not a lot but it was for fun But I may go back to playing it on steam if he's fairly hacker-redundant.

 

Use to play it before CS: GO came out

 

I wouldn't consider myself a very frequent player that is why the following statement might sound dumb, but there hasn't been a week since 2001 without me playing CS 1.6 or CS CZ at least an hour or so. Hands down my favorite games of all time. I'm not into Source and have not tried GO as of yet.

 

GO is worth playing. Source is just terrible, hands down. Worst game of the series by a long shot. I agree with you though, when I'm bored and just want to kill a couple hours.... Nothing beats a CS1.6 session.
