70 Attack on a pure - Yay or Nay?

I am thinking about buying a pure, although the one I am looking at has 70 Attack.

70 Attack
50 Strength
1 Defence
75 HP - Not sure how much it will be?
75 Mage
52 Prayer
80+ Range with CCB

At 64 Combat

I would much rather lower attack higher strength but is there anything I can do to even this out? I would prefer to stay under 70CB. With only 50 Strength my melee hits would be pretty weak and I would likely be forced to use a spec weapon like Darkbow, which isn't all that effective.

What should I do?

I'd go with a pure you can max at 60 Attack first, you can always move on to a higher level. Now you are basically missing the first step, not knowing if that is what you'd actually like. Besides, 70 Attack is somewhat useless, you'd be better of getting 80 instantly for chaotics, but that is just my opinion.

 

Well seen as the combat rework is taking out special attack and 60 is usually for dds you could go for 70 for the whip as its more accurate then scim.

 

If you want a good pure under 70 CB I would recommend starting a new account because it won't work well with what you have.

 

Your best bet would be to get 75 Attack and stay there, unless you plan on becoming a maxed Pure (99 Attack, 99 Strength, 1 Defence).

Otherwise there's not much use with 70 Attack and a measly 50 Strength other then using a Dragon Scimitar.

 

75 Attack 55 Strength with AGS Spec is 380 Max, without any gear and using super strength and Ultimate Strength prayer.

60 Attack, 70 Strength with DDS spec is 207 x 2 (414), without any gear and using super strength and Ultimate Strength prayer.

My options are as follows: At 67CB

75 Attack
55 Strength
1 Defence
77 Constitution
52 Prayer
87 Range

Range Max Hit - 347 with Dragon Bolts, Range pot and Eagle Eye
AGS Spec Wep- 380

OR

60 Attack
70 Strength
1 Defence
77 Constitution
52 Prayer
87 Range

Range Max - 347
DDS Spec - 414


But here comes the twist, on a pure, ags would be a lot more accurate and hit higher more often than dds would it not?
