Whats so good about aleinware?

Alienware isn't worth it when buying a desktop from them. Their laptops are better.

You cannot really get a laptop as good as they make 'em for their price. Especially with a lot of people blowing money on mac laptops, it makes the alienware laptops look cheap when compared to mac's specs and price.

 

Lol. The 3 year old laptop was the first one I purchased. I bought a new m14x two weeks ago and had a new m11x last summer. Don't attempt to take personal shots about things you do not know you come off as ignorant.

also price matters a lot especially in pcs. They do not all do the same thing.

 

lol wtf are you talking about your logic is your computer has survived 3 years so they are good computers, and I said I had a computer 10+ years old that still works fine and is used everyday. don't attempt to act intelligent you might get hurt.

 

Neither of you are acting intelligent, I created this thread to compare Alienware to a custom built computer neither of you have talked about and Aleinware or a custom computer...

Nothing's good about them anymore now that they're owned by Dell. I have a Pre-Dell alienware in storage somewhere, that I can almost guarantee still works. Friend of mine got one after Dell, and it was shit. He was having hardware issues after the first 6 months.

Go Custom-Built or don't bother getting a PC at all.

 

I didn't know dell owns them, Seems like the own everything now...

My computer was originally a dell before I pretty much stripped it and re built it I never liked dell, when I was pulling it apart they where all compaq and hp parts.

 

Yep like I mentioned in a previous post Dell took over a while ago.

And yes Dell doesn't build their pc's with own parts, they are usually HP parts if i'm not mistaken. Dell just provides service and such, you should only really use Dell in a company for the customer service.

 

All Alienware do is buy the parts, put on an expensive shell, and slap on 40% for tax and profits. Definitely not worth it. Yes, they may know what parts to put in, but there are many people that can custom build you gaming PC's for a price that actually represents cost. I have a couple friends that do it.

 

As with any company there will be markups for profit, thats how they make their money. Without a doubt custom built is 100% better than buying premade, but some people will pay that premium to be lazy.

 

Assembling this for a friend right now for $100.

 

Thats a whole lot of power supply for that system, but i guess its better to have and not need then need and not have.

 

Leaves room for GPU expansion. He lives in the barracks so power consumption isn't an issue. Uncle Sam can pick up that bill. So it's not an issue.

Little more than that, I'm taking my time with it, browsing sythe as I build it. Will be like an hour before I'm completely done
