What car should I get?

I'm going to be buying my first car, I'm debating on buying a BMW e36 or e38 and then paint it flat black and buy rims for it. But I'm not quite sure either to
Buy a BMW or not, how are they? Do they break down easily? Do you need a lot of repairs for one often?

 

I have a 2011 335i, love it! Amazingly fast havent had a problem with the car yet though only 8000 mileage.

 

How much money do you have to spend? And what are you looking for in the car?

 

Yeah the 335i is abit over my price range. I'm thinking going under 15k, Obviusly going to buy a use car. I'm just lookin for a car with nice looks and a classic feel. In my opinion the e36 has the best BMW feel

 

European cars are expensive and high maintenance car. if you got money to fix it then go for it or just stick to acura for luxury , honda/toyota

 

I dont recommend buying any Bmw for that price..

Have fun paying an arm and a leg for parts when something goes wrong.

Also, if you plan on modding it.. Mods aren't cheap for any beamer.

Yeah, if you buy some lame ass civic and throw a can on it.

Buy a car, slam it and stance it out keep it clean.

 

Because you prob wont find one w/less than 70k miles maybe more and mods arent that expensive...

 

money isnt the issue for mods. I got 15k to blow on a car

 

I'd go for a used wrx sti.

And to the person thinking 70kish miles is a lot, I purchased my car completely stock last year for 10995 with 70k on it, 92k now and still no problems.

Well if you are prepared for expensive upkeep, go for it.

 

German cars require alot of maintenace most of the maintenace comes around that time i think you should save up maybe a bit more and try to get fewest mileaged car you can get

I would say get a newish, toyota/honda/etc....Something reliable and that is in the 5k-10k range...Than you'd have 5k-10k left to spend on other shit...

It's your first car, no need to get all exotic...

Not if you can't afford the maintenance and upkeep.

You're just going to blow $15k on a car that is only going to keep depreciating in price over time. Make sure it's a good one that will last you a while AND let you stay out of debt.

There are idiots who might drive around with the newest BMW models, and it looks nice and all at first glance - but if you look at their debt, it might be a whole other story.
