What is rs2006.net

Can someone please explain to me what it is into the fullest detail as they can? (is it legal by jagex, Does jagex know what it is, What is the server?)
Anyone can post here as long as you have information that will help me better understand what rs2006.net is.

 

It's an upcoming private server in the days of 2006, so you'll be playing RS like you would have been in 2006. It's not affiliated with Jagex, however.

 

Ok so Jagex knows about it but they havnt done anything about it? Do they approve of the server or are they just going to let it die? How many players does it have?

 

I heard there's like 100k sign ups but no players as of yet as it's not been released to the public. I believe the name has been changed to "2006scape" now. I honestly don't know what Jagex will do about it.

That's our current number of accounts registered. It's a great feat and makes us feel great about releasing Pre-Alpha within the next few weeks (you can follow our progress on our website, 2006scape.com)! And to answer your earlier questions: Yes, JaGeX is aware of our project and looks down upon it. It's a full remake of RuneScape until the month of May in 2006. Once the server gets started, we're going to have a community-wide poll of whether or not to add skillcapes or not. I don't think Runescape can do anything about it, Unless they've copyright laws.

 

Private? Public server you mean. Because lately i heard they been advertising in public wepsites yes in runelocus 2 they will lol... but the hell with it i am joining looks pretty cool as far as i am concerned the server is going to the top and the first players get that top advantage and i guess if runescape is gonna take down rs2006 their gonna take a whole lot more private servers shut down them.
