How in the... do I recover my account?

Trying to recover an old account but it won't let me passed the "enter email registered to this account", gives me 6 attempts then locks me out for an hour? What happened to the old fashioned giving details to recover your account rather than this e-mail bullshit?

 

You still can. On the screen where you have to enter the e-mail it says that you have 2 tries and then asks you to add the previous passwords etc.

 

I'm sorry, jagex updated the website and it is different now.
If anyone knows how to please post ahead, I came up with this

When it asks for an email, just leave the field empty and continue.
You'll be prompted a second time for the email. Again, leave the field empty and continue.

Then you should be directed to the recovery form. It will ask for an email at the end where you will receive an update on whether or not your recovery was successful. If successful, the email you entered will become the registered email on the account.

Yeah, the recovery process has been updated. You can only manually recover it with the old form if your account doesn't have an email registered to it. If it does, you can only recover it through that email.

 

the problem is every time i get that message and click the link, I get link has been expired.
I emailed jagex about it and waiting response!

 

As far I as know you can't do anything about it.

 

It may not be the best to recover old accounts ( im sure there is still a way) but it will make account sales much easier

You can explain to them your situation, they will email you with instructions or to speed things up just give them your information.

The information they need includes early passwords, billing details (if you have ever been a member), contact information and recovery answers. If you did not set any recovery questions, you can tell them 'I did not set any recovery questions'.

Non-members: 5-7 day response.
Members: 3-5 day response.

 

Wow I just checked out the new recovery system. So far it seems, there is nothing you can do about it unless you have the registered email lol :/ gg
