    Height and intelligence?

Just because something is statistically significant, doesn't mean the results can be generalized to the population of interest, it just means that whatever results that had occurred from whatever study were most likely not due to chance.

I wouldn't consider height to correlate with intelligence.

I would consider that height does have something to do with inner confidence or just confidence in general.

    Height and intelligence?

I don't think there's any major correlation between the two. If you take a look at some Asian countries, like China, Japan and Hong Kong, they are known for being intelligent. But their average height for men is only about 5ft 7 and the average height for women is a bit less.

    Correlation is not Causation.

I would say no. Evolutionarily speaking it could be the opposite, smaller people requiring intelligence to survive while bigger relying on physique.

Average height for a male is 5'9 in North America and the average height for a girl is 5'3 1/2. In high school its not as relevant as if you are taking university courses, I don't know where you are, but just saying that if you take physics/math in University you will tell the difference between you and the people who are taking nursing and parks and recreation (usually the dumber ones no offense).

That isn't surprising though, schools seem to be pushing GCSE's at earlier ages now. The exams have been dumbed down so much over the years.

No, an evolutionary change of such a degree doesn't happen in a single generation. In any case, large variations of physical size occur between generations so it would be nonsensical to try and reason your stand through evolutionary means.

Furthermore, a physique 'evolving' to a smaller size would imply a smaller brain.

In any case, I have no opinion towards the OP.

    Height and intelligence?

I personally do not believe there is no link between the two, however I have observed that some of my friends who are taller then I am are quite smarter, although the I wouldn't consider the tallest of them (over 6'2) being the smartest.

    Height and intelligence?

    Are you sure about that?
    *runs away*

    Yeah, but anyway..
Intelligence has nothing to with height, the only thing I can think of that would contribute is that taller people are easier to notice, so their questions may be answered rather than a shorter person, educating them in what they asked.
I'm 6'5 and I wouldn't class myself as intelligent. In the area I grew up I am classed as intelligent, but my most of my family have very successful jobs, so I am always being drived towards hard work and success. How ever I think if I lived in a more posh (rich) area I'd likely just be an average student.

This is most defiantly true I am very small and have a shorter brain stem so it takes less time for the signal to travel you see.
