Most of you old-timers will recognize this name from the early RS days, or from playing RSClassic's most established private server - RSCEmulation.

For those of you who haven't already heard, yesterday Luke's motorcycle hit the kerb, causing a direct collision with a lamppost. Luke was pronounced dead at the scene.

More information can be found on the countless amount of topics on rscemulation.net or moparscape.org

Luke's name will live on as a legacy throughout the RSC community for years to come.

God always gets those who do bad in the end. sucks to see such a harsh consequense but he was a known scammer [ one of the biggest in rs existence gp\$$\accounts] so I doubt many will honestly care here.

Just because he scammed or w/e doesn't mean he shouldn't be respected and let go like anybody else.

you don't generally morn the death of someone who has done harm from you. what he had done in his day when he scammed is far more than anyone has done on sythe such I know of several people in the past who he actually caused a lot of ill will to fall on these people because he stole real $ from them. so sorry he doesn't deserve respect here perhaps take it to rsce and moparscape/

He is actually dead, unfortunately. Beyond reports from his friend, Dean, who witnessed him die (http://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=248324&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=217)), there's a report of his death on this website: http://www.gravesendreporter.co.uk/news/dartford_motorcyclist_dies_in_lamppost_crash_1_1411787 specifically naming Luke Leary (Kryptix) as the victim of the accident, with his correct age. You can dig deeper if you feel the proof is insufficient; it may be hard to believe, but it's entirely true.

Personally, even though I didn't like Luke or agree with many of the choices he made, I respect that he did a lot for the RSC community. Luke maintained and developed the longest lasting and most advanced RSC private server thus far, which is something he really didn't have to do, he chose to do it. Considering the amount of shit he likely put up with on a daily basis from the people of the RSC community, Luke must have truly been dedicated to his work in keeping RSC alive, and I, for one, commend him for his efforts in that regard.

Kerb is the British spelling of curb. I wondered the same thing as you did, when I first read it.

What a shame, may he rest in peace.

Well yeah, but you don't really wish this to anyone, would you?
But as the old saying goes, what goes around comes around.

Even though I haven't talked to him or played on his private servers maybe he was trying to be a genuine person the last few years, I don't know. Last time I checked in a few years ago people didn't even want to play on his private server because they figured they'd just get infected or keylogged.

No I wasn't saying that this was wished on him or anything I was just stating that a lot of people from this site he has probably scammed\ripped off in some form or another and this probably wasn't a good place if they were wanting sympathy posts etc.

and yes he had at least seemed to change somewhat the past few years.

well the fact that some people such as shredderbeam and others have been banned for just having a small association with a scammer you get banned I don't see why he was even welcomed here on sythe in the first place and even had an account... if your not welcomed in the first place[ kryptix being a scammer] then there shouldn't be a valid reason to post a RIP thread. you reap what you sow and with that being said he shouldn't have a thread on here. maybe where he is liked such as his site rsce and so on.

I just spent some time reading through the thread on BCF and it sickens me how cruel some people can be. Luke sounds like he had some major issues, and was an unsavoury character online, but he is still another person and died much too young.

I feel for his family who are probably thumbing through that cesspool of insults and disrespect on BCF. Thoughts & Prayers go out to his family.

Couldn't have said it any better. There are many people here on sythe that have similar histories that I would feel similarly about. Care for one another :'(

So what did he do exactly? Never heard of him. Was his scamming limited to RS Classic? Sad to see a young man go regardless.
