Scammed by 'gr33n lt'

We met on his chosen world while talking on MSN. We agreed to use Teamviewer to do the trade. I went first. He accepted the money, then "switched to his father's computer" so that he could use teamviewer. He never came back, never contacted me on MSN, never responded to the thread, never sent me a PM. I waited 24 hours just in-case some issue came up that had to be settled first.

How they scammed: Accepted the trade then skipped the scene. They haven't contacted me within 24 hours.

Proof that you were not talking to an impostor:

And then he never returned.

I think it's pretty conclusive evidence, or at least enough for a TWC. Just be careful out there people, I've definitely learned a lot from this.

 

All I need from you is the real MSN screenshot of the conversation, to prove that you were speaking with him on that e-mail address and also so I can see that he specifically told you to trade that RSN (VVVinallday).

We never accept chat logs as proof, particularly raw ones like above.

Definitely learned a lot about not getting scammed now, if there's any silver lining in this situation >->

Everything that was said in the conversation was logged in notepad.
I was never told what character specifically to trade with.

A lot of this is my fault but I figured I'd at least put up this scam report so people could avoid the same fate.

 

Are you sure your computer doesn't automatically save your MSN conversation chat logs? Try going to My Documents > My Received Files > Your E-mail Address.

And how about anything else here on Sythe to indicate a trade took place. You posted on his thread, but before you added each other to MSN were there any PM's exchanged?

 

Did some snooping through my MSN options; I don't have any logs saved but I did enable that option for future trades.

No PMs. All through MSN/that thread. He logged onto MSN once about 6 hours after the trade but promptly logged back off.

 

I'm really sorry mate, but there is not enough evidence to warrant a ban in this case

For future trades:

• Make sure your MSN logs every single chat you have so you have records
• When you meet up ingame, ask the person specifically for their RSN, so you have it on record
• When you upload the MSN conversations, make sure you show the conversation as seen in the actual MSN window (not raw text)

Everything else you provided was perfect. I wish I could do more for you man, but I can't be certain it was him that you gave the gold to ingame.
