Lil' Wayne used to be amazing, some of his stuff is still good today.
    Tha Carter I.
    The Drought.
    No ceilings.

What other rapper has released so many EP's that are free?

His last album. Tha Carter IV was not bad. A lot of variety instead of gangsta stuff.

Loads of rappers release free mixtapes.

Tha Carter 1-3 were good. Everything else blows. E.G. Rebirth. Its the drake effect. Rappers used to be thugs (circa 1995) and then turned into rappers posing at thugs (e.g. 2005) and now are just pussies who rap about money (right now, e.g. ymcmb)

    its the drake effect

Actually he used to be sick and he joined the Hot Boys when he was only 15. He definitely had talent.

My favorite Wayne songs. Such a huge difference from his shit now. All that money weakens music.

It's called selling out... I used to be a fan of Wayne myself up until Carter 3, & I liked his drought mixtapes, & even no ceilings was alright. But the crap he puts out now isn't even considered rap to me, I call it Hip-POP...

The best rappers now a days are all underground (Tech N9ne, Hopsin, etc),. There are a few good mainstream artists too like Eminem, Slaughterhouse, T.I. Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T, J. Cole, Nas, Yelawolf to name a few.

^ That's the only picture i could find of him looking as weird as he does now.
There was another that I couldn't find of him wearing bright neon green skinny jeans and a pink jacket and uggs lol.

But yup it's true all of the mainstream rap now is shit.
The truly good artists are either semi-underground or underground.

However, most rappers mixtapes are where the good music is, the albums are just complete shit that they use because they know they will make money off of it.

    About Wayne's "How to love"

"Its like bein showered wit ovaries n bellybuttons son. Its like this muthafucka jus slid on down a rainbow n landed in a big pool of estrogen before he made this shit b. Like this nigga jus pulled up in the drive-thru n ordered the McBitch combo wit extra cheese n a Diet Aveeno. Theres a whole kaleidoscope of homoeroticness happenin rite here son. Drizzy probably crochets mittens to this shit rite here yo. This that shit Drake listens to on his lavender iPod when he usin his flyin umbrella to get from point A to point B son. Rite now...as we speak...theres probably two niggas spoonin on a beach somewhere watchin eagles soar over mountains while they listen to this shit b. This song got a damn uterus son."

The sad reality of modern day rappers is that their style and image changes as frequently as the weather. The reasoning behind it is because those artists are just money making tools, used by the music industry execs to fill their own pockets. The people working behind the scenes and controlling their careers will alter their images and change their music style to meet the demands of the public, and keep lined up with the popular trends in the music industry.

It really is a huge shame, because most modern "artists" and so called rappers, are extremely untalented and rarely write their own music. However, they have certain qualities, images, and connections, that make them very appealing to people in the music business who are able to mold them into whatever image they think will help to sell records. The modern day rapper image and definition of "gangster" has changed, and it is very apparent if you actually listen to the music and the lyrical content. Lyrics that were once about the streets and real life stories of the struggle to survive, have evolved into lyrics about fast cars, busty and slutty girls, and wads of cash and money. And unfortunately, that image sells like crazy.

ok the genre is changing, it's happened in every genre you can think of. if hiphop and rap had been the exact same since it was in the late 80's shit would eventually get boring...
