Buying a new computer (will be botting on it)

I'm buying a new computer which I will be botting on, and pking and most likely staking later on.

Now I am not sure wether the computer is good/fast enough, I want it to be quite fast and smooth.

    It has 3GB Ram DDR3.
2,8 ghz triple core amd processor
    1GB graphics card
500GB hdd ( it's not that much but I wouldn't need alot more, so that's fine.)

Does any one know if this combination will run smooth and fast?

Or should I buy a brand new one for around 700 euros?

    Thanks in advance

How many bots did you want to run on it/and what kind? 3GB RAM can be used up pretty fast.

I don't have a specific budget. Some one offered me the pc described above for 300 euros with a 19' acer screen included. The amount of bots vary, I'm not looking to start some sort of insane goldfarming business, but maybe about 4-5 bots?

4-5 Bots, it could work. sounds okay for 300euro with the screen included.. Flat screen right?

As for fast and smooth.. meh, you might think it is, if you've never had anything better.

    Yeah flat screen,

I used to have 2GB ram, but it worked like a charm, but could only bot 2-3 bots max, but later on it started to slow down, tried to speed it up, but nothing worked.

It has 3GB Ram DDR3. - alright, may need to upgrade to 8 gb

2,8 ghz triple core amd processor - Not bad, could always upgrade to a quad core

1GB graphics card - Doesn't take that good of a GPU to run RS smoothly, will run fine.

    500GB hdd - Solid, I know I wouldn't use anymore than 100gb myself.

Does any one know if this combination will run smooth and fast?
    YES

For the $360 pricetag, the computer is unbeatable, AND it comes with a monitor. You can expect at least 3 bots, maybe more.

I feel like you need 4GB RAM at minimum because you don't want the bots alone to eat up your CPU usage %; if you're running 4-5 bots simultaneously, I'm going to guess 8GB RAM would be better than 3GB RAM (since that can get used up quickly).

I don't know if the CPU usage of bots has gone down...but I remember some bigger bot programs would take a 1GB+ of RAM to run smoothly before the bot nuke.

Thanks alot champion, was thinking about upgrading to 6 or 8 GB ram, depending on the price tag. PC is 3 years old by the way.

@KK6 Yeah it's not only about the ram how smooth the bots will run, sometimes 2-3 bots would run within a range of 1GB-1,5GB but sometimes when I ran the third bot it would lag like hell.

Ahh already 3 years in service huh? Hopefully you won't come across any hardware problems right off the bat, and sap as many years as you can. For about $50, you can get yourself 2 x 4 GB ram sticks, plus the ram you already have (Implying your mobo has 4 slots).

That's why I'm not sure wether I should buy it or not, one of the reasons is due the 3 year service, the person who offered it to me seemed to have taken really good care of it, but it's still 3 years.

You can build yourself a MUCH better computer for that price, I'd highly recommend that route. Saying that the euros adds up to about $900 USD, you can get yourself a powerful computer.

you will only be able to run 4 bots or so at max depending on what bot you use with the above computer. I have a 3.3ghz quad core with 8 gb of ram and I can run 5 bots [ epicbot] and then still play a character myself with no lag anymore than that and a little lag occurs. and I only use about 4 gb of ram when doing this. I don't know the euro to us$ ratio but I only paid 350$ for my computer and this was several months ago I'm sure you can find as good of a deal if not better by now.
