    Are you on Windows?

If so, type this in CMD one after the other:

    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

    Should work.

Check out my guide that I'm writing next week:
    http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1398218

In mean while you can just use web proxies such as:

    www.kproxy.com
    www.surfert.nl
    www.hidemyass.com

This doesn't work, it usually takes days.

Doesn't matter, ISP won't change it for you unless you have a very good reason.

    Several days usually.

This will only change your private ip on your local network,
not your public internet ip address.

As i asked above, if you want to change your IP, not use proxy/vpn crap and add on the latency, please either state who your ISP is or what form of connection it is (fiber, coax, copper-phone).

    I assume normal cable..

And like I said above, no ISP will change your ip unless you have an extremely good reason for it.

If you have a cable provider such as Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Etc, and your cable modem is connected directly to your computer, then download Technitium MAC Address Changer, follow a tutorial of some sort and change your NIC's MAC address. Then reboot your modem VIA the reset button, which is usually on the bottom / back, and requires a paperclip or similar item to access.

If you have a router between the modem and your computer, go into the router (http://192.168.1.1/ - http://192.168.0.1/ - Http://10.0.0.1/ ETC, look under your router for the correct address to use) and find a field that talks about MAC address, will usually have text like 00:AB:EF:E1:..more crap here.. near it, all letters/numbers are completely random), change one of the letters/numbers in this field (You can only use A-F or 0-9) then apply the setting, and reboot your modem through the pinhole on the back/bottom/etc.

I don't think anyone has it connected directly now a days :p

But yeah the second one works, which is what I'm making a guide on next week.
But ofcourse your router needs to have the option. I'm going to make a detailed guide on this next week.

Surprisingly almost no one knows about this method.

Out of all the routers I've worked with, never seen one without the option xD. (Of course lately I've only touched Cisco/Juniper routers)

Hmm some basic routers don't have it actually.

Can't go wrong with cisco certified routers I guess.
