RS Economy and Moneymaking Ruined The Fun.

Honestly it has gotten extremely difficult to make a profit on anything in rs. Most skills that were enjoyable are now money pits, monster drops are less often, and the market is fucked (pardon the language).

SO... How does one overcome this permanent depression in the RS economy?

I can at least give you how I TRY to do it... Each day I get on, grab some gear, and go to a boss. After about 5 unsuccessful trips to bosses I just go kill frost dragons for an hour, then get off for the day and play xbox.

IDK if its hit anyone else, but it may be because I've just played the game since 2003, RS has really lost its appeal... Every now and then I will find something to keep me entertained for 2hrs but after that I HAVE to get off and do something else. Its a drag now just playing the game. Since drops are less often and the economy is screwed, Excitement about the CHANCE of having a drop isn't there because I seem to know nothing but a trash clue will be dropped...

What are your thoughts on this?

 

Bot I suppose while you play xbox then you can do bosses with better drops every one pretty much bots nowadays I'd say about half of the players on at any given time are bots.

To add to your discussion yes the game feels boring because you have been playing it for so long maybe the combat update will bring something fresh for us who have been playing for nearly 10 years. That is part of life though you will eventually find things that you used to enjoy not as enjoyable and more like a chore as opposed to fun but then you find new things that are fun. All part of growing up.

 

I used to bot. But now all the damn sites closed and I lost $250 of auth codes.... I was a gold farm botter but now all these bots are shitty. And its not like I'm 10 lol. I'm 17, married (long story short: messed up on something), and going to college for computer engineering. Only thing that keeps me occupied now is programming android apps.

 

You can still bot. Simba, PB, RID, and many more are available.

Or you could find a new game to play.

 

But like I said, most of all the bots are shit now. Plus there isnt a wide variety. No soulwars, not good hunter bots, nothing as advanced as I used to have. I can code a more advanced phone app in a day than most these bots have gotten in months.

The last chance RS has to intrigue me is probably going to be combat update and the Crucible. Other than that, its just not too appealing to me. Already sold most my accounts on playerauctions and left myself two to play on if I get interested again.

 

Lol wierd i do the same...i play and level up some skills (combat) then just watch youtube videos or facebook ...i logg in every 1-2hours just for the hell of it...nothing much to make profit from

 

EXACTLY!!!! I get on, open GE, close GE, log out... play xbox, edit video, upload to youtube, log in, play squeal (hoping for that non-existing chance of winning), then get off.

Same routine. I want to have combat update already or at least the crucible so that I can kill some fags.

 

Just make a bot farm, and use the game for gold if you feel that way. Might as well help yourself than worry about pixles on the game ya know? Maybe play diablo 3 or something and get into that game and farm gold

 

Agreed with teh99prayer - if you're feeling burnt out, switch or move to something else until you feel it's fun again

 

when you play a game for 10 years it will get boring .... something that helped me get back into the game is playing private servers and get everything i have ever wanted make a few bill in a couple days and then go back to real rs and enjoy actually having to work for things lol. But honestly it sounds like you may need to chill with the video games and maybe find an additional hobby? GL hope rs becomes fun for you again

 

If I were you I'd either take a break or get involved in RWT. Sythe renewed my fondness of Rs as I could make profit through doing tasks that usually would yield nothing on Rs.

Runescape is just a harder game than it used to be and calls for way more work, for less outcome.

So I haven't posted on here in a few days because I have been busy hosting flower games. I have made 185M in two days and just started my own RS betting "clan".

The trick is to ACTUALLY be legit on the hosting. When you're legit more people come... And the more people come, the more they gamble away their money. Of course some people may get lucky and manage to stop themselves, but most children in the game win then bet it all after they know youre legit and then lose.

If you all want to know more of how I operated join the FC: RS Vegas (I claimed the name somehow...) I will be glad to teach you all how things work to give the host a 70% chance at winning and how to make the game more interesting for the person gambling their money.

I only play to host now and I actually enjoy RS again lol.

 

I don't enjoy it either, RuneScape is really boring.

 

anyone else find it ridiculous that this kid is complaining about the economy and uses bots ... you need to decide which side of the fence you're on before making a thread. Realize that botting is what ruined rs in the first place you botting only makes the game worse for any real players, its the reason the economy sucks and th reason you are complaining. Way to go posting dumb shit like this on a runescape fan site. Clearly a bunch or hypocritical losers agree though. they "hate" runescape yet play it all the time and talk shit about it in forums.. think about that.

 

Yes the game has gotten a lot easier, but it requires a ton more work in order to do anything... If you want to have fun on the game you have to have a decent amount of money like you said.

 

Thank you for seeing it my way. Honestly on Thursday I had 22M on my main, I started to host the hot cold game and today I broke my record lifetime amount of 100M. I am glad to say that I enjoy RS again.

So yes I believe that the fun in the game comes from having money like you said. I used to be "rich" with 22M, then when I came back to the game 22M was poor -.-
