Wise move to stock up on these as they will be discontinued by(the end?) of Summer 2012?

they won't be discontinued, they are just going to switch it to rare on the squeal wheel

 

I bought 2 for 5m ea. Hopefully by Christmas time they are 25m?

 

Let's look at it this way. People can create an infinite amount of accounts with 2 spins a day increasing number of masks ingame. Also, they can buy spins. Also, note that it took around 5 years for the Santa Hat to reach 25M. So if your not intending to keep the mask for around 5-10 years (which I doubt RS will still be up and running by then) it would be wise to just sell the mask now.

 

It actually 1 spin a day for non-members. Remember, you don't automatically get the mask. There's a possible chance it won't even show up as a reward. The reason why santa hat's took as long to reach 25m was because of the market at the time. People didn't have as much money, but it will take longer than a few months for the fish mask to reach 25m.

Read the FAQ they posted on the matter, they will only be changed to 'rare' on the wheel for the summer; after that they'll be discontinued.

You could have 10 accounts, Do the easy quests and get an extra 2 spins. So that's like 200 spins you'll have..

 

Actually you can make fresh lvl 3's and you'll get 14 days of free membership, thus 28 spins for free in two weeks.

 

I'm going to keep the one I have just in case it raises and also its going to be a RARE item to get from the Squeel of Fortune in 2weeks or less.

 

All I know, even if it becomes worthless is that it will never fall below 500k technically since it can be high alched for that much...

Do you remember the months before free trade/wildy was reintroduced? People spent MONTHS fishing sharks, making potions, buying all the whips they could get their grubby hands on becasue "Dude when the wildy comes back EVERYONE will pk so there will be a HUGE demand, I'm gonna make BANK" and then you remember when a few months after sharks dropped to 600gp from 1k, whips dropped below 1m? I think that's what is likely to happen here.

Stocked up on about 25 of them. Hoping to come back in 5 years and having them worth 100m each c:

 

Jagex has stated that they won't be making any more discontinued items. I wouldn't think it wise to stock up on these hoping for future profit.

 

Yeah I'm in two minds myself. They have said they wouldn't make any more discontinued items + they look bad but on the other hand there is the huge hype about them.

Probably just gonna buy a few.
