    Should alcohol be banned?

It really shouldn't be banned in my opinion. Drinking is extremely detrimental, however in small amounts it isn't so bad. The only problem is individuals are making bad decisions such as getting "white boy wasted" and drinking and driving. However if they are dumb enough to get in a car after drinking, it's their fault.

    Should alcohol be banned?

So it should be banned for me to sit on the couch, drink a cold one and relax?

    That's cool.

    Should alcohol be banned?

Yes and no. It has become a major problem. Drunk driving to name a big one is a result of drinking, obviously. Many other negligible activities occur as a result of alcohol. In addition, alcohol promotes aggression, poor judgement, slowed reflexes, and can cause many health problems. In this sense, I am all for making it illegal.

However, once something is discovered, it can't be undiscovered, especially something as big as alcohol. If it is banned, it will be made and obtained illegally, regardless. It will turn into just another "drug".

No. If they want to go out there and drink and kill themselves then let em. Keeps the population down.

    Should alcohol be banned?

Absolutely not. Health hazard or not it all boils down to this :

Where in the constitution does the government ( United States ) have the right to tell anyone what they can and can't put in their own body ?

    Link to source ?

Just because people use it irresponsibly does not mean other don't have the right to use as they see fit ? Why not ban tobacco? Why not ban automobiles ? Why not ban religion ? All three of those things have killed more alone then alcohol has.

The state of California (USA) is in financial debt. If we leagalized weed like cigaretters and alcohol, and taxed it, there would be no more financial debt. Nuff said.

Marijuana is addictive. Not everyone who smokes it is addicted, but there are a handful of us that are. http://www.marijuana-anonymous.org

Ok first off thats ridiculous, I can abuse or be addicted to milk if I wanted too.
Marijuana is one of the most non addictive substances in the world, and if youre addicted you must a have a dependent personality.
As far as alcohol being illegal, yeah I doubt that will ever happen, because that industry has such a stranglehold on our government, that you will never see another alcohol prohibition.

    Side story
(Girlfriends mom came home drunk at midnight last night, opened her garage door to pull in her car, for most of you should know in the garage is a set of stairs that leads into the upstairs of the house. Well this brilliant piece of work goes back out of the garage drops her purse in the yard and proceeds to walk around the house yelling and beating on doors because she lost her purse. (it was in the front yard just sitting there btw). After banging on the doors didnt help her much she finally got into the house and proceeds to yell at the dog for not coming up to wake us up to unlock the door, literally screaming at the dog).

Making alcohol illegal would only lead to more crime. Look at what happened during the prohibition in the 1920s. It's what started organized crime.

we already tried this with prohibition which only contributed to deaths with the crime element bootlegging alcohol ... the alcohol being introduced to the black market was often not made correctly and or cheaply killing even more people. Humans have been drinking alcohol since the beginning trying to take it away would be futile. I agree that its a harmful bad thing to drink, but its not going to go away. EVER

I think it's fine in a controlled manner. If any laws were to be changed it would be stronger restrictions/punishments if it's used whilst driving.

No, alcohol is older than your ancestors and surely can teach some moral lessons.

Alcohol teaches moral lessons? Murder and incest are also ancient practices. Are they moral because of their historical significance?

Alcohol production leads to economic stimulus. Banning it would be fiscally harmful. Alcohol/Cigs are taxed at a high rate (sin tax) so the gov't would lose tax revenue.
