[F2P] Tome of Frost VS. Magical Blastbox

Basically I'm making a F2P only pure and I want the best gear for warring, so which is better: tome of frost or magical blastbox?

Magical Blastbox
- 3K tokens less
- only +5 magic attack/defence bonus
- can save inventory space by storing spells
- 25% extra critical hit every 5th attack

Tome of Frost
- +10 attack/defence bonus (highest for F2P shields)
- unlimited water runes (irrelevant for the most part)

Which one do you guys think is better?​

 

I'd have to say that the Tome of Frost, because of the +10 stats

 

I'd have to say Tome of Frost also. Its +10 stats are active all the time whereas Magical Blastbox's +5 are always active but its critical attack is only every 5th which would require a lot of decent timing on your part to sync that in for K0s.

 

Blast box is A LOT better. Been clanning for many years (Sorta irrelevant since dungeoneering only came out like 3 years ago, but yh)

 

Yeah I'm still not sure which to choose though. The magical bonus is nice but it would be nicer to hit higher IMO.

 

go for the blastbox. A critical hit at every 5th hit do add up in the long run.

 

I would go for the blastbox too, the +5 Magic extra on the Tome of Frost doesn't weigh out the critical hit of the blastbox. Obviously you'll need a bit of luck, but hitting 200 instead of that 160 will surprise people when you are maging.

I agree with this guy. Go with the blastbox unless you plan on using (for the most part) water rune based spells, or spells that will use water runes. Then I would have to reconsider, but it would still be a hard choice. Every 5th hit with a critical hit, will be better then the +10 mage bonus. Because, (correct me if I'm wrong), I think the +10 mage bonus only increases the accuracy of your hits, not the punch behind them.

 

I think you should get the Blastbox, because I think it's better to hit 25% more damage.
How much difference can +5 mage bonus be?
